Re: NEW SETS SPOTTED! (Winter 2010 Edition)

I was at my local Walmart last night on a date with my wife and I happened to check the Lego aisle and there were absolutely no Legos on the shelves at all. At that time they were unpacking new stuff and I saw 3-4 pallets of 2010 Lego in the aisle and the lady in the toy department told me they were not to be opened and they would not be put out until middle to late January. What a travesty, no lego to sell me but plenty of product to sit in a stockroom through Christmas. And to think of all the homes those toys could be sitting in on Christmas day. Those poor, poor Legos :'( .

It still really is beyond me why LEGO does this!

www.toysrus.ca now has the new lego toy story sets. Prices are more reasonable (marked up $1-2 only) and some of them are even lower than toysrus in USA.

Burnaby Toysrus in BC Canada got some of the atlantis sets all at MSRP prices. No 2010 lego star wars as the star wars shelves are empty.

TRU brick & morter stores here in Calgary, AB, Canada have new SW and Toy Story sets. None of the smaller sets (Battlepack and Army Men) but quite of few of the >$20 sets. At another TRU I found the battlepacks in the above-shelving compartments.

I was looking at the local target for some but they were entirely out of stock on ALL LEGO, although the megablocks remained as they always are, crying, abused, and unbought on their shelfs.
Series 1: Cowboy, Indian, Clown, Diver, Spaceman, Zombie, Robot, Forestman, Skater.

Postby buhs » Mon Dec 28, 2009 7:48 am

Good news - the Hoth Rebel and Empire battle packs are now available on S@H. The Toy Story Green Army Men set is also available. All are in stock, I just ordered mine (limit of 5 each). ARC is also there and in stock.

Here it's 14.99 Euro.
Does anyone know if the quality of the figs got better or if it is still the cheap production like the last magnets/battle packs/keychains?

The sets were on a different production line from the magnets and keychains, and the BPs I've seen in reviews and pictures are normal minifigs.

I purchased 5 each of the Hoth, Empire and Army Men sets last week from Mastermind.com and have already received them. I can confirm that the minifig quality is set quality, not cheap (black markings on necks too). Only issue was one of the X-wing pilot's orange visor print was a little off, but it looks ok once the helmet is on.

Oh yes, the Tri-fighter, Tie Defender and Freeco are also available... I have them already, so didn't think to mention them. I think the new land speeder is still to come for the January sets though?

Its a big disappointment that those are in fact the Canada MSRP prices. I thought those were toysrus marked up prices but i guess i was wrong. :( $35 for tri fighter droid and freeco speeder, $15 for battle packs.. Thats 1.4 times the US price. $29.99 for the freeco and fighter droid is expensive already. Its gonna be tough business here in Canada as parents won't fork out that big of a sum to get those lego's
