...or in Europe, spend €700 and you'll get one! Wow, what an opportunity!

I just checked for United Kingdom: "With a purchase of £60 or more"
Austria/Spain/Germany/Belgium/Portugal/Netherlands/Luxembourg/Italy/Ireland/France: "With a purchase of € 70 or more"
...Switzerland: "With a purchase of fr. 100 or more."
...Poland?!: "With a purchase of € 300 or more."
...Denmark?!: "With a purchase of kr. 500 or more."
But Sweden? Yeah... you got screwed. "With a purchase of 700 € or more"
Could be worse though, check out Czech Republic: "With a purchase of 1,800 Kč or more"

Of course LEGO would have a deal like this days after releasing a number of greatly anticipated SW/IJ sets. That way, people like me would spend $75+ on S@H when the sets first appeared and then realize the next day they will miss out on receiving a cool gold minifig.

Oh well. No big deal I guess.

Have to say with, with this and the chrome vader offers appearing outside of the States, Lego does seem to be spreading the love further afield recently. It seems they have been listening. Battle of Endor (and bonus) - come to daddy!

It's not as bad as it sounds, as none of these countries have the Euro. I think the mention of € for Poland and Sweden is just another one of those screw-ups that LEGO is becoming famous for. When converted they are all around €65 - €70, so the whole of Europe appears to be in the same ballpark.

Denmark: 500 DKK = 67.15 EUR
Sweden: 700 SEK = 64.92 EUR
Czech Republic: 1800 CZK = 69.43 EUR

Sure, it's cool. But will it have flesh hands when you receive it?

Really too bad that they can't chrome the hands. I bet its because of complex design there.

I'd guess it's because they are thin and flex. The Chrome would buckle and flake off.

Didn't the Chrome C-3PO have chromed hands? If they could do it then, why not for a keychain? It looks a bit odd and unfinished without chromed hands.

It's very possibly the picture isn't an accurate representation of the figure.

I got the fig today. The hands are not flesh or chromed but in a bright yellow.
But the fig looks good nonetheless, imo.

There's nothing yellow or bright about the hands. They look like "pearl gold" (ie. old C-3PO hands) or possibly even plain tan. I haven't had a chance to look at them closely in decent light yet.

When I got mine yesterday I was a bit surprised at how this "special" figure had just been dumped loosely in the shipping carton, only wrapped in a tiny bit of paper.

mine look bright yellow. Not pearl gold like C3PO's.
Maybe there are differences?

But you're right about the packing

I got one today ... hands look tan to me, as does the rest of the fig where there's no chroming. On mine, the arms were clearly bent backwards when it was chromed, cos when they're in the normal by your sides area, you can see tan on top of the sides of the torso at the back!

At least it was free ... I'd have been annoyed if I'd paid separately for it!

And even in store, the "packaging" is just a small bit of tissue paper around the figure.

The hands on mine are in fact just plain old tan, as is the rest of the figure underneath the gold coating.

No C-3PO pearl gold and no regular minifig yellow either.

Wonder if maybe they used the hands in some sort of grip to hold them during the chroming???

Looks like its cheaper version of chrome - they just stick whole figure in chrome machine. I think they wanted hands to be still able to rotate so they didnt chrome hands.

As someone in flickr posted, the legs are not all chromed.

I bet it's all "recycled" minifigs from some kind of overstock too. I bet theres some face under that gold chrome, but I cant afford to spend 75 bucks just to test the theory. :D
