7674 V-19 Torrent Review

Just wondering would anybody had this problem with this set?

When V-19 torrent is in landing mode... did the V-19 leans a bit forward? I built it 2 times and it still leans a little forward. But on the box art and pictures, it shows that the V-19 lands parallel to the surface. Did i built it wrong or is the set suppose to be like this?

The tilt has never really bothered me. It gives it the appearance like its ready to go at a moments notice. Though I can still understand someone else's aesthetic that it should be at the flatter angle.

I just built this recently. I like the ship, but wasn't so crazy about LEGO's execution of the model. I'm happy to say, I got this thing on sale at Amazon prior to last Christmas (25% off MSRP). I've taken a pass on a lot of Clone Wars sets, but this one had enough potential to warrant a purchase, especially on sale.

The forward tilt didn't bother me so much. I can logically explain that away as a design feature to accommodate crew trying to board the thing in its landed configuration. The rest of negative points I agree with though.

-Swooshabilty takes a hit from the large, flimsy construction.
-Lots of gaps with exposed Technic bits
-Wing folding mechanism, while inspired, doesn't hold up very well and the hydraulics offer a somewhat staggered S-foil maneuver
-Breezy interior for those that want to know the cold vacuum of space first hand.
-Lonely, lonely little fig

Thanks for the review. I'm not a big fan of the non OT sets but I have to admit the wing gimmick was interesting to me. Also I managed to find some for $30 before tax at Target a few weeks back but it was only at one Target in my area. I think at $30 it seems like a pretty good deal despite some of the "flaws."

The other thing that I can appreciate from the forward tilt is that it can go on one of my higher shelves. That angle makes the top still visible. Some sets don't work on higher shelves , because all you can see is the bottom really.

I thought this set was great, so was the fig as long as you never, ever, EVER!, take his helmet off. And to you people who wont buy CW sets because of the ugly figs you're missing out on a good set.

Alright i got this set for christmas 08 and its a waste of money but its a good set and a nice challenging set by lego for once, here are the pros and cons

Pros:
The design is very good,
Clone Pilot!!!,

Cons
Not enough minifigs,
To small,
Stickers
My pilots head was messed up and blurry

Overall i would only reccomend it to collecters or people that make battles or stop-motion,

Not to try to be too discouraging, but this is generally the quality of review I expect from the LEGO website, not here.

How do you stop the V-19 Torrent from leaning?

It leans. I don't know I way to keep it from leaning. Maybe try fidling with the gears on either side? That could work, although it might also mess up the wings. Otherwise, I just try to live with it. That was a major complaint with the set, and I wish TLG had taken more time to prevent that.

At first when i built it i thought i build it wrong cause it was leaning and the box art shows that it stand parellel. After reading the reviews here, i found out its not only me but the set was designed like that. Tried putting the technic pieces in different places but no luck.

I like it. It feels a bit different, and something that could be an engineering solution in the SW universe.

I think it's just one of those designs that's cool as a play feature, but doesn't really work on display.
