What's happening to the Ask LEGO forum?

If you are one of the dozen or so people that happen to wander into this forum, you probably noticed that it's been locked. The staff has been mulling closing this forum for some time, and it seemed as good of a time as any to do it (translation, one of us finally got around to it).

Ask LEGO is a holdover from the old FBTB, which closed back in 2009 before we opened this new forum. Back then, we had a LEGO community organizer, Steve (speaknspell), that participated in the AFOL communities and would occasionally answer questions for us, so long as they followed certain rules.

Since we moved the site, Steve has left LEGO, though his time spent on AFOL sites had diminished well before that. That was actually a couple of years ago, and while LEGO does have a new community organizer, he does not participate in any internet communities. In truth, Ask LEGO has been dead for awhile, since it wasn't really Ask LEGO, it was "Ask some other LEGO fans who know the same things I, or a basic Google search, do."

Going forward, if you have a question for your fellow AFOLs about sets, lines, etc, those should go into the appropriate sections (General LEGO, Star Wars, Licensed Themes). If you have a question specific for LEGO? We still have onions as an ambassador, so feel free to either post a thread here asking, or shoot him a message.
