Dino

Though we don't cover them in detail on FBTB, we all still love our Castle, Pirates, and Space LEGO too.

This theme isn't exciting me as much as it should. I like the dinosaurs, but the dominant use of yellow is throwing me off and doesn't quite work.

I was checking these out last night and I love the Dino's, the sets are just meh.

*Edit* Here's a pic of the missing pteranodon chase

This almost makes me feel like Lego has run out of ideas for new theme ideas. :S

Some of these sets look truly terrible, but I do think the actual dinosaurs look better than those that came in the last run.

Looks like I'm in the minority here, but I am so stoked for this line I could crap. Sure, some of the vehicles and things aren't great, but a couple of them do look pretty spiffy and the dinosaurs are all awesome. LEGO and Dinosaurs are something I've been waiting for for a loooong time, so this is a dream come true.

They haven't done a good Dinosaur line since Adventurers, and this is no different... The figs are dull, the new guns are kinda dumb, the dinosaurs remind me too much of the rubbery abominations from Dino Attack, the vehicles/playsets are boring... Especially compared to the next wave of Star Wars and Ninjago, these are just a pass.

This reminds me of Agents, only a really boring version, with ugly colors, and dinosaurs thrown in.

The yellow is a bit much, I concede, but we might get some printed elements of an interesting nature. The dinosaurs themselves are nice. They look a lot more natural than the black, pink and glowy-eyed monsters from the Dino Attack/2010 line.

I'm with you on this one, I'm quite excited for the sets myself. This would probably be as close as we can get (I don't necessarily count the very miniscule JpIII sets that were released many years back), to a Jurassic Park line of sets. The vehicles don't stand out too much to me at all, but I could always rebuild those into something better. The animals themselves look wonderful though, especially the Pteranodon and the Rex.

These are clearly Jurassic Park inspired. I approve. Definitely getting at least one set and seeing how it goes from there.

I can't tell if some of the photos you guys posted are not loading on my computer or not available... so just in case, the new sets are listed on ToysRUs site: Dino Defense

I have to wonder what was so wrong with the original Dinosaurs used in the JPIII sets and the individual canisters- they were still plastic dinosaurs, but ones that were more compatible with other elements and could be mixed and matched for greater variety. Heck, I think those things were just flat-out brilliant. Why they used them so infrequently after that I'll never understand.
