[NEW STUFF] Collectible Minifigures Series 5

Though we don't cover them in detail on FBTB, we all still love our Castle, Pirates, and Space LEGO too.

I wouldn't say I'm excited, but I've definitely wondered about the next color. Oddly enough, red is the only specific color I've imagined that it might not be. It seems to me that there's something about red that just isn't a "Buy Me" color to as many people. It's sort of an aggressive color.

Good thing there isn't any red in the Lego logo . . .

Well, I just had an awesome overload. Little monkey! Gangster! Reporter! I don't know what to do with myself, but figuratively spasm uncontrollably on the floor. I might have to trade my Star Wars habit for another. (And goats!)

My predictions wishlist for the other 7 figures in series 5.
Would love to see a female rock guitarist to go with S4 punk rocker!
Mexican Guitarist
Also a drummer, keyboardist, singer (with mic stand) probably asking way too much!
Also a man in a Frog suit/Tiger suit
Male tennis player obviously a partner for s3 female tennis player!
Wizard (twisted hat and magical staff)
Javelin thrower....(hammer ball on chain)
Cricketer (Loads of potential accessories. One for us Brits )
Rugby player (plus ball)
Snooker player (Pool player)
Fencer (Mask would be cool!)
Cavewomen...maybe not.
Wing Suit Flyer!...that would be so original!
Mermaid
......I'll stop now!

In my opinion all the series have been great. I love my growing collection and hope they keep going for as many series as possible! Looking forward to series 4 coming out and getting that punk guitarist!

EDIT

Horah ....right about the cave women...are well these are suggestions now for series 6!

Next time will search a bit harder before posting.

OK, some of the ones that we didn't see before are rather unimpressive. A male snowboarder? ho hum. And what the heck is the lady with the pink boombox supposed to be?

Eskimo (ok, Inuit) looks nice. And I am glad to see the graduate. The woman with the monkey isn't too exciting, especially since the monkey looks to be a single molded piece. The outlaw (?) with what looks like a doctor bag to me? Yawn. The last looks like a "redneck", though I can't make out what he's supposed to be holding...

Overall, it looks good, but I can see why many of these last seven were not part of the first promotional image...

I believe it's a mobster with a guitar case for his gun.

An axe; so more likely a lumberjack (although I thought "redneck" on first glance, too ;)).

These all look pretty neat. I wonder how many of these were in LEGO's original plan for collectable minifigs and how many they decided to add after reading all the great ideas that were suggested by AFOLS and others in the various forums. ie the British Guard, the Graduate, the Lunberjack, the Mobster etc.

Based on the photos, it looks like the "feel" method is going to work great on finding figs in this set!

It was already incredibly easy with Series 4, especially compared to 2 and 3, so I think you may just be right.

Someone recently got hold of all the series 5 figs and posted pictures. Some nice photos of the figures.

Those pics give the impression that the boxing gloves are permanently attached in place of hands, instead of being something that fits over hands. Not sure how I feel about that...

I'm now very curious what the other 7 will be. Man, I haven't even gotten all of Series 3 yet! By the Series 5 comes out, they'll be $4 each. :P

What ones do you need from series 3? I have a few.

I don't feel any worse about that than I do about hook hands or the new robot arms from Agents. Honestly I prefer that method; the needle shooter and wrist-blade from the PoP Hassansins looked weird how they had to be held by the hand instead of being on the wrist and I can see that being a problem if that's how they handled the boxing gloves (at least when looking at the bottom of the gloves).

EDIT: Unless you mean you think they're attached to the arm and it's one piece, in which case I'm not too fond of that either.
