What would you like in future mini-figure series

Though we don't cover them in detail on FBTB, we all still love our Castle, Pirates, and Space LEGO too.

Yeah, and he later deleted them upon request from LEGO. Your point?

The Flickr links were still there when I posted, and when I posted, there was nothing wrong with posting them on this forum.

the images in question are no longer in this thread. we're not disputing their existence. can we please move on from that now?

i'm still not liking the gorilla suit man. i suppose if anything someone will come up with an ingenious brick-built silverback to properly use the head piece.

Collectable Series 6 Suggestions!

Postby numista » Wed Feb 09, 2011 3:02 pm

Hey thought I might be daring and get a new topic started..... could be a while until a 6th series comes out. But what the hell! Maybe even a whole year...lets give them some more refined ideas.
We can be a bit more specific since we already know 5 series (80 figures) worth of minifigures already!

INVISIBLE MAN!!!!!! Completely see through minfigure LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
Ghost/Vampire Hunter (Holy water bottle and crucifix)
Female gothic rock guitarist (Fender/Les paul guitar)
Mexican guitarist (Over sized guiter)
Rock Drummer (Drum sticks...mad hair)
Keyboardist (Could have guitar style keyboard)
Singer (Mic stand)
Man in a Frog suit
Women in a Tiger suit
Male tennis player (Tennis racket with 80s hair band! McEnroe!)
Wizard (Twisted hat and magical staff)
Javelin Thrower....(hammer ball on chain)
Cricketer (Loads of potential accessories. One for us Brits )
Rugby player (Plus ball)
American football player
Snooker player (Pool player)
Olympic fencer (Mask would be cool!)
Wing Suit Flyer!...that would be so original!
Mermaid
Didgeridoo player

Others suggested before I like
Guy with stilts, Canadian Mountie, Magicians Lovely Assistant, Army Guy in camoflague, Milkman,
Scarecrow, Bee Keeper, Zeus, Devil, Angel, Scotish Bagpipe player, Postman, Classical musician

I'm gonna stop!

List your suggestions plus favs already mentioned don't forget the Invisible Man.
(a wink is as good as a nod to a blind man!)

I'm digging the idea of a fencer. They've already got the epee from the musketeer guy in Series 4, so it's really just a matter of a new mask mold and printed torso. I would buy a ton of them, too, because I could give them to all of my fencing buddies. ;)

I doubt we would get a completely clear invisible man fig. However, we might get one that is wearing a trenchcoat and hat with a clear head with some bandages printed across the face (with plenty of gaps, so we can see the lack of face).

Don't know if the effect would be good enough to be worthwhile, though.

Now that I have a full team of baseball players, I would like to see a different team represented in a future series. This time, the figure should come with a glove and ball.

I have to say when I started this thread, I never thought so many good ideas would come out of it, but I've still got a few to add to the pile?

Man in chicken suit (KFC)
British Bobby (Police man)
Oil Sheik
Creature from the black lagoon
Ralf, The Greatest American Hero.
Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde.
The Thing
Silent Bob & Jay (Please!!!)
Coal Miner
Thor
Shakespeare or the guy holding the skull?
Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins & Buzz Aldrin

Not forgetting, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, Bill Gates & Paul Allen.
Or better yet, The cast of Seinfeld including newman!

There's an interview in the latest BrickJournal with one of the creative leads for the collectible figs line. I forget the name* of the individual being interviewed and don't have the issue in front of me for reference...he confirmed that the line has been planned through Series 8 (as in characters have been chosen and in some sense developed up to at least series 8). I hate that I still care about these things. :x

I hope they can keep the line interesting without losing steam. I must admit, I'm not nearly as interested in Series 5 as I was Series 4. I have a feeling many of the Series 6, 7, and 8 characters will be gender-swapped rehashes.

I don't know that this is inevitable or that it should be a big concern...though the BrickJournal article (interviewing Mathew Ashton) did hint that there would be a cave-woman. Based on pics around the net, that's apparently going to happen in Series 5 (which also includes a male snowboarder).

Well, heck, we've already had one rehash that wasn't even gender swapped. I still can't figure out why they took up a slot with ANOTHER skateboarder without even swapping the gender...

Curious, no-one has mentioned, if the minifigure series could be made with a SW theme, say from the original SW movie, like;
Biggs
Han
Chewie with bowcaster
C3 Gold crome plated
R2 (New version)
Sandperson with stick
Jawa with gun
Darth
Stormtrooper
Moff Tarken
Deathstar Guard
Captain of Leias ship
Leia
X-wing pilot
Greedo
Luke in tatooine gear complete with hat.

It's a thought.
Or course you know, these wouldn't be the same caliber as the one's in the sets, but wouldn't it be something worth looking forward too!!!
An one of the perks of this theme, is that you could build your armies.
Plus in could be made for each movie, now there's a thought.

I do believe that would be "infringing" on Hasbro.... Same reason we get Battle Packs and not individual or sets of just guys.

I'm just happy to see that some of the ideas that have been posted early on about figures have come to fruition. Whether by chance or somebody with authority has read this, I don't know; regardless, it is nice to know that someone may actually be listening.

I had that idea also, not sure if I posted it here or in another forum but I am sure they would sell just as well, if not better than the previous CMF series. Keep in mind though, because they are licensed and Lucas would need his cut, I am sure they charge at least $4 per pack (but I would still buy at least some of them). There is the Hasbro issue, but anything can be negotiated and/or re-negotiated, anything can happen if the price is right.
