Where in the US can I find the Pirate impulse sets?

Where in the US can I find the two Pirate impulse sets? I'd like to get them at a reasonable price, but the only two places I know of that have them are TRU (at $6/ea = $12) and LEGO S@H (at $3.49/ea + $5 S&H = $12). Are they a TRU exclusive?

i've onlhy seen them at TRU. i suggest next time you order something big from S@H, toss in the two sets. the shipping cost won't seem so outrageous than if you ordered them by themselves.

or just splurge and buy them at tru.

I've seen them at Target, once. It's a rarity but they do carry them from time to time, but they hide them in the seasonal aisle.

I've found them at TRU for $4.99 each... not a huge savings, but considering it IS an impulse set, I bought a bunch.. Didn't think the shipping and the waiting was worth a few bucks.

I've seen them at Target pretty regularly, not necessarily in the seasonal aisle but in the LEGO aisle. Possible that they're just a hot commodity and are hard to keep on the shelves?

EDIT: Just saw them all at TRU yesterday, so they're out there. . .

I think I've seen them at Target too. Don't feed TRU and their prices. Wait for Target.

I've been to a couple Targets and haven't seen them, but I never seem to find impulse sets there since they aren't with the regular LEGO. I wish they would put them with the regular sets.

They carry them at the lego stores. The one near Atlanta seems to always have them in stock.

I've only seen these at TRU. From what I've seen, Target only has the Castle impulse sets....and even then very rarely.

For those of you reading this in Washington State, Bartell's (a drug store) has them for $3.49. I suspect Fred Meyer would also carry them, but haven't been to a Freddy's since the 2009 stuff has been out.

You know, its kind of funny because I've had this problem, too.
I saw them at TRU, but they were ridiculously over priced, $12!!
I decided that I would never go to TRU again except when they have sales
which puts all of the set prices back to normal

TRU would be your best bet, except for mine. they had them at the beginning of the year, other wise they only have the city ones.

I see them at my local toys r us all the time. In the West San Jose store and the Blossom hill store. Geographically speaking.

target has the pirate impulse sets in their easter section. and they sell them at MSRP, whereas TRU sells them slightly higher.

My local target was stocked tonight when I went. I picked up 2 each of the Pirate Impulse and 1 each of the Star Wars.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I had given up on finding them anywhere except at Toys R Us, so a week and a half ago I picked them up there. They were $6.99/ea (ouch!) but with a $5 gift cert I had, I only had to shell out $4.49/ea.

When I saw that they were at Target again with the Star Wars minis, I picked them up there yesterday and then returned the first two to Toys R Us today. Now I can use the TRU gift cert for something a little more reasonably priced, or perhaps a TRU exclusive. Speaking of which, does anyone know if the Farm Tractor is a TRU exclusive, or is it/will it be available most anywhere? S@H lists it as Hard to Find, which seems like it usually means it's exclusive to one store or another.

i'm pretty sure the whole farm THEME is a TRU exclusive. the tractor is a bit of a painful purchase. it's a great little set, i have mine on my desk in front of me as i type this, but the cost is exhorbitant. LEGO S@H is only slightly cheaper at 2 bucks less but you pay out the nose for shipping and possibly tax. if you don't have the luxury of a LEGO b&m store near you, then unfortunately you are stuck with getting them through TRU. i am personally digging the farm theme, the combine harvester made my jaw drop.

They're small little sets, usually under five dollars, that most people would buy impulsively rather than planning the purchase in advance. Candy and small packs of batteries are also considered impulse buys.
