[NEW STUFF] Power Miners

Though we don't cover them in detail on FBTB, we all still love our Castle, Pirates, and Space LEGO too.

Good call. I didn't recognize the visor. It doesn't seem to have an antenna, though I may be missing something.

It looks like a new part to me. Sort of a hybrid between the old Ice Planet visors and the Clone Wars visors.

Well, Right now it is available from target for $9.99, so next time I head into town I might stop by and pick it up.

Check the store indicator on the site, it's not in stock anywhere yet.

You know why?

Because it's fake.

There is one store in my area that has it, but the store is like 90 miles away.

If power miner wasn't always using that ugly green color in there set I may actually buy one.

I have the visor in trans-orange.
I'm probably cooler than all of you combined.

You guys sure that's a movable visor? Looks like a one piece helmet to me.

Not sure...but it seems strange to mold a permanent visor to an existing (Rock Raider) helmet style rather than just creating a new, unique helmet (or just molding the existing design in silver and leaving it at that). Time will tell.

No, I think it's movable. If it's anything like the old one with the antennae, it will be.

That looks a lot like one of these with the antenna missing.

I stand corrected. But, honestly, would it be that hard for lego to chop off the antennae?

No...it's as easy as slicing the skin between your fingers with an Exacto blade...but one scenario provokes the same question as the other: why would you want to do that? In any case, it seems what you got and what the new PM set has are two different visors.

Unless the image is reversed and there is an antenna on the other side, hidden by the helmet.

No antenna, and it's removable.

(From The Green Giant LEGO's photostream.)

It's interesting to see how similar to SPIII the next wave of PM's torsos are.

There are a bunch of other up-close shots of other lines (Atlantis, SPIII, PM, etc.) in his stream as well. I'm digging the new "chunky" SPIII and PM helmet molds, for some long-overdue variety in the closed-helmet department.
