[NEW STUFF] 7687 City & 6299 Pirate Advent Calendars

Though we don't cover them in detail on FBTB, we all still love our Castle, Pirates, and Space LEGO too.

Looks like it's up on Target's website. Not sure if it's pre-order or shipping immediately. $29.99 USD/257 pieces.

Wow... great find! It's says "In Stock," so order away, I suppose.

EDIT: Does anyone know what other advent calendars they are offering this year? Castle?

That image on the Target site actually comes from an Amazon server. The other calendar is 6299 Pirates Advent Calendar.
amazon.de has both calendars listed as available from October 2nd. There are also more pictures that can even be zoomed into.

Some direct links to (un-zoomed) images:

EDIT: The City calendar is also up on the amazon.com site, but without the additional images. No sign of the Pirates calendar though...

I did just notice that the City calendar is indeed available at Amazon US as well. No sign of the pirate calendar.

I'm shaky on the calendars... did TLG release anything but the city calendars in North America previously?

No, but there's only been 1 Advent calendar in recent years that wasn't City themed (the Castle one from last year) and public outcry (and a little elbow grease from Steve Witt) got them available via Shop@Home US in limited quantities.

Ah don't tell me that legos going to pull this crap again with the pirate calendar this year. That really steams my clams.

Nothing to get in a twist about just yet. Scuttlebutt in the land of the Nords has it that this thing won't be available until October. Whether or not that applies to North America is a mystery.

Staff in the UK LEGO Brand Stores have been told that the Advent calendars will arrive "sometime in September" & that they are to go on the shelf immediately, along with the other Christmas merchandise.

Both calendars are now up on S@H:

7687 City EUR 19.99 / GBP 19.55 / USD 29.99

6299 Pirates EUR 19.99 / GBP 15.79 / not available in US

Strange that the City calendar is more expensive in the UK. In Germany both are the same price.

Is this going to be a repeat of the Castle AC last year with Pirates? :S

Could be. However, none of these figs are exclusive to the advent calendar as was the case with 7979. The main reason I was looking forward to this one was as a cheaper way to get my daughter that mermaid minifig, so I am disappointed, but there is always Bricklink.

I had a lot of fun doing the Castle calendar day by day, and was hoping I could do Pirates this time around. I guess I'll have to find one on Bricklink or pay someone to send it to me.

It looks as though it's been confirmed. No pirates for Christmas in North America.

Well then that settles it ...
I WANT PIRATE CALENDAR!

If you would like a pirate advent calendar and are in the US reply to this thread saying you do.
Then I'll email this thread to lego.

There was some concern voiced on The Brothers Brick over quality ("cheap" minifigs and all that). For what it's worth there is no mention of China on either calendar.

Austria? Never seen that before...

We need that Pirates calendar! If they're not giving us a proper US release...then no advent calendar for me this year. City just doesn't cut it.

Werd. I have a mind to boycott the City calendar on principle. If they ever came out with a Space advent calendar in Europe only, I'd be livid.

Thankfully, I think the sub-par minfigs are still relegated to the quick-to-production, non-licensed battlepack, game and accessory type items (magnets/keychains, etc.)

I live in the US and would rather buy the pirate one than another city one
