10197 Fire Brigade

Though we don't cover them in detail on FBTB, we all still love our Castle, Pirates, and Space LEGO too.

It's at this point that I realize I really need to get all the Cafe Corner sets, because they're all just awesome. A shame only one is under the 100 dollar point (and not by much).

This looks just marvelous. All the detailing is superb, and I love the bell up on top. Hopefully I'll be able to afford this.

I think this is an absolutely beautiful building. The detailing is superb and it matches the brilliant architecture that the other modular buildings have. This is an excellent addition to the line.

I love this series. Lego has put so much effort into making these buildings look fantastic, and this time they did not disappoint. I have trouble figuring out which I like most, they are all so amazing.

I really like how each consecutive set has even more in it. Green Grocer had a mildly furnished interior, now this has a "2 fully furnished floors" and a very nice, classic fire truck.

I personally cannot wait for this to come out, along with the Carousel. Lego is coming out with so many great sets, too bad my wallet wants them to slow down a bit. ;)

Although it's not quite the same as the other buildings I still like it especially the way the 2nd floor looks like brickwork. It comes with a lot of nice pieces like the gold fire helmets and a tan Indy sachel and should fit in nicely with my Green Grocer. The "1932" at the top is also a nice touch. :D

And here I was thinking it would look good with the Ecto-1 blasting out of the garage

"... uh-huh.... uh-hmm.... Oh yes, they'll be very discreet."...

"WE GOT ONE!!!!!!"

Ding Ding Ding Ding...

Cue the 10197.

Could not agree more, I am definately going to purchase this set to add to my son's collection, then maybe MOD it to the Ghostbusters Fire Station. I'll have to make sure my son watches the movie, otherwise he proabably wouldn't understand it. I just hope he doesn't want me to build a 10 ft lego marshmellow man.... or then again... do I??? mwuahaha, now that would look cool, sure would put a damper on those living in the city, but boy would that look cool.

Oh god... *cries*... This year is going to be very expensive:
Endor
Hoth
Carousel
Fire Brigade

I'm just not sure if the Carousel is quite in the same scale as the modular houses... I guess it is though, if you go to one of those funparks, some of those carousel things are enormous, and definately at least 3 times the width of a townhouse.

My wife said in reference to the carousel purchase... quote "You know, I'm so glad you're prepared to buy lego for your son thats the girly type lego and not worry about it."
Girly? Girly? uh-oh.... I never thought of that aspect.... I guess though, I used to play with my sisters toys as a child, so I figure.... no sweat XD Besides, some of the belville lego was awesome for mocs.

I really don't see the connection between this and the GB firehouse. I think it's possible to make a decent-looking GB firehouse from this set, but it'd require a lot more than just a mod.

What I said wasn't meant to be dissected to this point, but when I say "Rocko" and "mod" in the same sentence, I'm thinking in terms of what he did with the Corner Cafe...that and his style of adding fun and humorous twists to a standard modular City set.

Sorry for the necrobump...but is it Friday yet?

Hopefully the shipment arrives on time. My local store said they'd only gotten 1 in for the display model so far as of Sunday.

It is Friday. And the set is now available from Shop@Home.

10197 Fire Brigade EUR 149.99 / GBP 97.85 / USD 149.99

I've been looking out for this all week. Right up until yesterday evening (German time, around 16 hours ago) the set did not even exist in S@H. It wasn't simply "not available", the item just did not exist. A few hours later and there it is available for purchase...

Picked up one today, along with a Tantive IV, from the LEGO Brand Store in Milton Keynes, UK. :-)

If you're going to a US store, call first.

Local store didn't have it in, said they weren't expecting it until the 9th at the earliest. They said they're expecting it to arrive w/ the Tantive IV.

Oh well, got my Green Grocer on sale at least. Almost bought multiples, but they only had 2. Wanted someone else to be able to get one.

The Bellvue store has (had?) it. I don't know if they still do, but it was available yesterday.

This was a great build...and I do see some sims between it and GB one. I hope it's not the last in the mod lineup.
