Challenge #6: FBTB For Life

Though we don't cover them in detail on FBTB, we all still love our Castle, Pirates, and Space LEGO too.

Challenge #6: FBTB For Life

Postby onions » Sat May 09, 2009 2:44 am

This is where the challenges start to get interesting. For this challenge, you will need to create 3 signs, one for each word in the phrase "FBTB For Life". You will need to submit a photo of you with 2 other people each holding up a sign in the proper order while riding public transportation. Submit your picture to this thread. You must also submit the picture to the FBTB: flickr Outpost pool with the tag "Challenge 6". No photoshopping. All persons in the photo must be holding their sign and looking at the camera. You have 3 days to complete this challenge. This challenge will end on 5/12 at 2am. Good luck!

This is very interesting. I could be wrong about this, but 3 days seems like a very short amount of time for this particular challenge. I think the cookie one requires about as much planning as this one, and that one gets a week.

We don't have buses or subways where I live...
Does walking down the street count?

i had specifically planned this contest to occur over the weekend. i figured the weekend would be the most likely period of time where the most amount of people would have the opportunity to do this. We'll just have to see if someone can pull this off within the time alloted. If not, I may extend the deadline.

Unfortunately, walking does not count.

I don't see any planning required. Writing the words on three sheets of paper takes at most a few minutes, then just head for your nearest bus stop or subway station and make a fool of yourself...
If you don't mind getting strange looks this one is a piece of cake. (I do mind, so you won't see any entry from me)

Well, I tried...

I didn't feel like waiting for the bus that comes by once every hour on Sundays, so the bus stop it is. My very understanding wife holds our son and her sign, but unfortunately the boy didn't feel like looking at the camera or holding a piece of paper. He actually ate the "F", so our message, if readable, had been "FBTB OR LIFE", according to my wife, an improved sentence...

Ah no! I don't ride public transit any more! My new job requires that I have a car! Oh well very cool challenge. Looking forward to the next one.

I too find the deadline to be somewhat shorter than one would expect for such a challenge.

Is there any way it could be extended?

Considering the deadline has passed and no one else has submitted a picture, this challenge will now go into "sudden death lightning round extreme" mode. Sorry Skafte, you get an A for effort but that doesn't quite make the cut.

First person to submit a valid entry wins! Challenge will end when a valid entry is received and the winner declared by me.

I only kept it short since I figured the weekend would be the ideal time one would be able to complete the challenge.

unfortunately no since not jsut anyone can get on the bus.

just so we're clear, public transportation is a transit bus, a train/subway car, or a street trolley. i will also accept a passenger airliner and a cruise ship. unless i'm forgetting something but I think that just about covers it.

And it has to be involved 4 people (three who hold the signs, 1 who makes the photo)? Do I have to know these people? Or can it be anyone who might be friendly enough to help out?
