Clicking Signature/Post Links

Postby Master Fetty » Tue Feb 10, 2009 4:26 pm

On the old site, when I clicked a link in a thread/in someone's signature, a new tab was opened. On this new site, clicking a link loads the page in the same tab, meaning I either have to go back to the forums, or faff about opening it in a new tab. Granted that isn't difficult, but it makes viewing pictures and the like linked to offsite much more arduous.

Is there a way that it could be set that clicking a link opens a new tab by default?

Try clicking links with your mouse wheel. ;)

That would be too easy, when we could merely ask the staff to do some complicated recoding of the entire fabric of the forum for the sake of slightly increased conveniance... ;)

I don't think it's quite as extensive an upgrade as you let on Jake, but it's up to the code monkeys to decide. I'm just buying time.

Bah, my over-elonquent and sarcastic post has already been disproven. Thanks Jet, it's a useful upgrade to have :)

I would need a copy of viewtopic.php.

Well now, considering you don't have that and I can't get it, seems a bit less easy now doesn't it? ;)

What I meant is Ace is the one handling this sort of change, so you'll have to wait for him to swing by before it will be looked at seriously.

OK. If Chief gets on I'll ask him.

It's funny how he says "Ace does that" and you say "I'll mention it to Chief."

no reason to be afraid of me. i don't bite that hard.

links will open in a new tab/window now. this will not work on older posts, but new posts from here on out will have this functionality.

locking...
