FBTB - From Bricks To Bothans

Ah, I love this thread. I'm a freshly-minted 16-year-old from the faraway land of Singapore. I'm a Christian (no denomination) and thus do not believe in the evolutionist theory. I'm also a die-hard Batman and Star Wars fan, with Justice League TV series reruns taking up my minimal free time (a phenomenon affecting most Singapore schoolboys).
As for other hobbies, I build and photograph Lego models (I own a pretty extensive collection, composed primarily, of course, of Lego Star Wars).

Unlike most teenagers, I do not own any games consoles (X-Box, PlayStation, Gamecube and the like) so I get to play on them only on the rare visits to a friend's house. My Dad does get me bargain-bin PC games on occassion, though, among them the wonderful Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend. Also, I love to write and entertain myself by doing so, writing movie reviews, Lego set reviews and fan-fiction in my spare time. I also do a fair bit of fanart and love to draw even thought I'm not too good at it.

I also have a deep love for music, even if I do not have the talent to match. The classic Broadway musicals always have a little spot in my heart - especially Les Miserables and the amazing Phantom of the Opera. The superb combination of stirring and memorable songs, visual spectacle and awe-inspiring atmosphere make these truly terrific.

I'm a big fan of John Williams and George Gershwin as well, two seminal composers whose music has been carved forever into Americana. From the Raiders March to Rhapsody in Blue, these are tunes which won't soon be forgotten.

Darth Greeble here. I'm a 30 year old AFOL from Texas. I've been collecting SW Lego sets since 06. I have a fair number of them on display in what my wife calls the 'nerd room.' By trade, I'm an electrical engineer and I work in the microprocessor design field. Like the poster Jedd above me, I'm also a Christian who's not associated with any particular denomination.

I'm a huge fan of video games, but I'm not really current with the latest consoles. I barely ever use my Wii, but they'll have to pry the PS2 controller out of my cold, dead hands. I'm also a huge fan of NFL football.

I'm expecting my first child next month. I'm already shopping for Duplo!

It's been a while since I was active here, and I'm great to see this place finally got the treatment it deserves.

My name is Daniel. I've been at FBTB for a long time. I consider myself an active member, but I probably do more lurking than posting. I don't post nearly as much as a lot of people here, but I do spend some time in the chat room.

I don't get much Star Wars LEGO anymore, as I somewhat lost interest in it, and find other themes and sets much more interesting. The last Star Wars set I got was over a year ago, and it was a gift from my big brother.

As for my life, I am 23 years old, I am a janitor and a musician. I love to write music, and I write a lot of it. I also love listening to music. When I have conversations with people, music is usually my go-to subject, and I think it tends to annoy people.

I also enjoy watching movies, watching some TV, and playing some video games. I also like to read, but am bad at reading, so I also read a lot of "childish" things like childrens books, graphic novels and comics. I am a pretty big fan of Batman.

Hi, I'm a long time lurker who's planning to get more active and 3.0 is the excuse.

I'm a 30 yr teacher from Wales (hence the Taff) called James. Jabba comes from a drunken nickname gained through a slurred introduction on fresher's night at university. Most people expect me to be the size of Jabba the Hutt. I'm not. YET!

I was brought out of my dark ages by an X wing fighter for my 21st birthday. Still the best present I've ever received, though the motorized AT-AT came close.

Currently, I'm enjoying the mini creator sets; trying to make as many creations from one set as possible. I like the challenge of using a restricted number of bricks.

Greetings all, I'm Bob, 39 years old and a father of three. I live in Herne Bay in England.

Star Wars freak since 77. I can still remember the hype before i'd even seen the film.

I was a Star Wars collector in the late 80's early 90's when you could still buy an moc 12 back or last 17 kenner/palitoy figure for less than £20. I amassed quite a collection over time most which i sadly had to sell during the last recession to keep up the payments on my mortgage. Doh. Had i kept it all i could have probably paid the mortgage off selling it at today's prices.

I had a son in 2000 and despaired that no matter what i did i just couldn't get him to take a bite of the starwars apple.

Then, a year and a half or so ago, i picked up a big box of lego for him at a boot fair/swap meet and not long after i got a PS3 with Starwars lego and here we are.

That one box is now many and we're building custom sail barges and Sarlaccs, cantinas and Endor. It's nothing on the excellent stuff some of you guys are doing, to look at which bought us here in the first place, but it's a start and it's a lot of fun.

Hi, I'm a 34 year old Nuclear Operations Specialist at a Nuclear Power Plant in Ontario Canada. I have a 1 month old daugher, and have been married to my wonderful (and understanding) wife for 9 years. I have a "LEGO Star Wars room" and have been collecting LEGO Star Wars since purchasing my first set in 1999 (the original LEGO X-wing). I have pretty much every original trilogy set made, and a few of the new trilogy and expanded universe models... but it's all about the classics! Well, that's me.

I used the same username on the old forum so most of you know me already as an avid modder of existing sets as I had some great posts that I had put up.

For those who didn't/don't know about me, I am 31 have 3 kids and love star wars and of course lego. So to have two great loves together is just an awesome feeling, and if any of these new sets is anything to go by, it looks as though the star wars license will be with us for a while.

I'm still the same cowboycoder from the old forums. Went back to lurking last year, too much other stuff going on, and I didn't feel like doing any SW MOCs. I've still got a box full of half finished TIE Fighters, from years back! But I've been thinking SW again recently, with an idea for a 'reimagining' of my W-Wing.

Been into the other themes I like, 12v Trains, Classic Town and Space. Got lots more to add to my 6927 Tribute (mocpages).

The nick goes waaay back to before the first dotcom bubble, a sort of tongue-in-cheek description of what I do for a living

This is my first post on the new forums, weird actually, seeing as I used to post almost secondly for a long period of time on the old forums, which I joined July 2006, not too long ago. Now I only post when I have a MOC or something relevant to say, which obviously means I rarely ever post. A lot of my posting decline can be attributed to a somewhat attainment of maturity, but realistically, it's because all my stupid FBTB nonsense now goes towards the chat-room, #fbtb (or alternatively #thugfbtb), where as I have said many times before, I can now spam on demand!

Still, I'm almost on the laptop, so I'm nearly always logged in to chat. So if you want the "Real Junsier Experience", please stop by. I've recently tried starting this thing called T3H LAYG0ES, here's a link to the minifig SW stuff that I've made. My name's Mitch, I just started posting here recently. I'm 27, have 2 kids, am a full-time student, and work part-time at Target. I'm in school for multimedia, and I'm really focusing on 3d modeling. In fact, I have a couple of Lego-related projects with Maya and After Effects that I'd be happy to post here once I'm done.

I don't really do MOC's right now, because I don't have the time or the Lego inventory. Most of what I have now are SW Legos, and they are for display, I don't take them apart. Maybe some day I will, but as much of a collecter of junk in general that I know that I am, I'd say that it's not likely.
