At a curiosity, would something like Tech Help Thread, fall under the whole no catch all threads policy? As personally, I feel that having one thread for tech help is quite beneficial as that would give you just one place to look at for tech help. I'm not sure about others, but I enjoyed reading through the pages of the tech help thread as occasionally I would learn something new that I found quite useful, yet never would have thought of asking.
