Help Decorate my Office

Postby Athos » Thu May 05, 2011 8:32 am

I've been looking for artwork to decorate my office. I'm quite into visiting national parks, so I was looking for some nice pictures of them. I couldn't find any that I especially liked, which were not outrageously expensive. So, since I'm a bit of an amateur landscape photographer, I thought I'd take a few of my own photos, blow them up into posters and see how they looked. I picked out, what I consider to be, 41 of my favorite/best images, but need to whittle them down to two or three to test out. So, I thought I'd ask for advice here.

If you could pick your favorite one or two or three and either post them here or put a comment in the gallery, I'd appreciate it. Any other comments or suggestions for improvement are also welcome.

Here is the flickr gallery:

Nice photos all around. My top three would be:
Joshua Tree
Kings Canyon
Bryce Canyon

Pretty much a sucker for all things mountains, though, since we don't have any topography here.

I saw that you had some images of Yosemite which are quite spectacular. One of my favorite pictures is of the fire falls which occur towards the end of February on a clear day and only after there had been significant snowfall that year. The sun comes up the valley and hits glacier falls just right late in the day to create this colorful effect on the waterfall. It happened last year. I know this isn't one of your pics, which all are beautiful, it's one I pulled of the internet but just thought you might be interested.

Thanks for the help all. I appreciate it.

That's because I have not been there yet. I'm hoping maybe next summer, as this summer the plan is for Yellowstone.

Yellowstone is another beautiful place, My wife and I and our kids are going through it this summer as well, on our way to Myrtle Beach.

Hmm... I would say this one but the mountains in the background kinda ruin it for me. You seem to like mountains, but I'm a prairie guy through in through. Though if you're going to go with mountains, I'd say go with this one. It reminds me of Death Mountain from Ocarina of Time.

You need to make these up as De-Motivational Posters.

For example, this one could say "No matter how mighty the tree, it can still become a rundown fence."

The brown 'mountains' in front (if those are some of the mountains you are referring to) are actually giant sand dunes.
