Anyone here with Win7 experience?

I bought a computer on which Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit is pre-installed.
But it could be that Home does not have some features which I might need.
I wonder now if it is possible to 'upgrade' to Win7 Professional 64bit without having to re-install everything.

Has anyone of you experience with that?

I don't have any practical experience, but I do know that Microsoft introduced the "Anytime Upgrade" feature with Windows 7. It does exactly what you want.

All you need to do is purchase a Professional upgrade key and enter it into your existing Home Premium system. This will unlock the additional features found in Professional.
