Guess who's got a ring!

At almost 20 years old, I'm now engaged to a wonderful woman whom I love with all of my heart. Cheesy pick up lines, cheap dates, and a hair cut later, it looks like I'm just not destined to be a bachelor.

In order to broaden the spectrum of this topic, perhaps we can talk about our own significant others. Their quirks, their irks, the whole 9 yards.

Ok, so here's some unsolicited advice. Its managed to keep me married for almost 8 years.

The most important. Start putting the toilet seat down NOW, before you get married. Get into the habit now, and you'll avoid any problems with it later.

Secondly, if you ever travel back in time, don't step on anything because even the tiniest change can alter the future in ways you can't imagine.

And finally, start practicing the following sentence. You'll be saying it a lot. "Yes dear, you were right, and I was wrong."

All kidding aside, congratulations, and I hope you have a great marriage.

Don't do like so many people I know and finance a big wedding. A mountain of debt is not a good way to start a marriage. You wouldn't believe how many people are still paying for their wedding when they sign divorce papers.

Anyway, enough of that downer.

Talk, talk, talk, talk, and more importantly LISTEN. That's really the only advice I have. I've been married 8 years, 3 of those we've been separated by half a world and communicating has kept us happy and healthy.

You tell me! For all the years I've been on this board, I've seen many of them going from annoying little pre-teens to less-annoying-more-funny teens to really-cool adults getting married.

That only reminds me that I'm getting that much older...
