Mario Kart

It's like the old BCS, except the 2.0 makes it fancy. Wondering why you can't post here? Check out the rules and expectations, and it all should be made clear...

We have to do this, I'm sure this would be extremely awesome and funny! :)

Jude, which category do I have to choose for unlocking anything or getting problems being on first place?
Yesterday I played the Grand Prix, but that was over after 4 races, from which I won 2.

Andi,

To unlock things, you need to play through all the Grand Prix at various levels. The problems aren't as bad at 50cc, but when you get to 100cc and especially 150cc, you'll notice it a lot more.

Additionally, at the end of each prix you will be given a "rating" (0-3 stars) that's based on how you drive. This is based not only on your rank, but also on your time. So the more you fall off/run into obstacles, the lower your rating will be. You may think "well if I practice and learn the courses, this shouldn't be hard." Except that enemies ganging up on you can easily send you flying into an obstacle/off course. So even if you've memorize every nook and cranny of the course and know all the best lines for corning, that's still no guarantee you'll get a good rating.

For more information on unlocking stuff, I suggest gamefaqs.

Despite all this complaining, I'd totally be up for FBTB tournament of death (or just a few friendly matches ;)). Now, where did I put them 3 red shells... >:)

I'll tell you, a "friendly death" match is seriously fun! With the other forum I'm active in, we used to do these all the time over the summer, when the game was still relatively fresh. However, the audience for that forum was pretty much all Pacific Northwest people, so at least we were all in the same time-zone, making the logistics much easier. Organizing one here will take some serious effort, so, props in advance to anyone willing to try and organize it. I know I surely can't.

adly, the disk doesn't work now... It loads so you can choose it from the Wii menu and you get the first splash screen and then you get an error. There aren't any scratches on the disk. I can't figure out the problem. Any ideas?

I would call Nintendo and see if they'll replace the disk. MS can easily be manipulated to replace bad/damged discs, I don't see why Nintendo wouldn't do the same.

I got it today and played through 3 cups in 50cc.After a couple of levels, got used to wheel driving.
Never got a A rank, I need some more driving.
Some of you got me scared here about the difficulty - I remember the old days of playing Double Dash where most of the time we could barely manage to come first *with* my bro.Now there's no such thing so...

But it'd be great to have tournaments here, count me in if there's one.

BTW afaik, friend codes are on licence cards.

150 cc can be a bit ridiculous, all the time, but I haven't tried it in awhile.

The instruction says you get the friend's code when you connect for the first time with Nintendo WFC in the game.

Sorry for the double post.

Is it possible to jump a bit higher when driving over a ramp?
There is a competition right now in the Mario Kart channel where you shall drive through rings. But one of them is above a ramp, and somehow I don't get my kart to jump that high to reach it.

a fbtb mk tournament........could be fun and worth bragging rights. I've got everything unlocked except for star rankings on 150 cc. I find myself wanting to put the remote through my tv while going for star rankings on this level. I also agree with the others that you tend to just get raped once you lead. If anyone is interested, I have a small group that races together on wiiendsdays from 8-10ish. Were looking to get more people involved so we can have 12 instead of the usual 5 or 6.

Andi, try hitting the jump button just as you reach the top of the ramp.

I really want there to be an FBTB MKDS GP.

I don't know why, but for a minute I though you meant Mortal Kombat. Silly me.

I have the original Super Mario Kart on my Super Nintendo, in fact, it came packaged with the SNES when I bought it at Goodwill. Considering my poor selection of SNES games (Scooby Doo? Sim City?), this is really the only game I like to play frequently. I've beaten the 50cc races, but have yet to complete the 100cc races. I play as Donkey Kong Jr. on the game.

Watchu talkin' 'bout Ry. Juns was way bad.....
And I so would have had you if you hadn't bombed me twice, and if there had been no snaking, and that tie counts for something. We shall race again, and we shall see.

In unrelated news I beat Pepa Quin 3 times the other day.
