My god! He's been in there for 2 1/2 hours, is breathing helium, and... Just how fast is he going?? Wow... I'm definitely hoping he'll turn out okay as well... :|

God, watching that video, I just can't imagine...

Lies. The kid is obviously an alien, he got back in his flying saucer, and he's fleeing the planet. I say shoot it down and ask questions later.

Too late for that, Don. He just "landed gently in a soft, plowed field."

Time will tell how he turned out, though... Who knows, maybe you're right. ;)

EDIT: Uh, they opened it and he ain't inside!

Yeah. I haven't seen them pull a boy out of the thing yet. Smelled like a "fell down a well" scam, maybe it is.

I certainly hope this wasn't one big publicity stunt. After all that family was already on Wife Swap and news for chasing storms.

That's exactly what it was. $5 says they told their son to hide, then launched the balloon. Apparently they called the news before the police, which should have been a red flag from the start.

Oh, Don... You're so wrong. The father said, "That's horrible after the crap we just went through. No."

So that must automatically mean that it wasn't. Heh, heh...

Right? :p

Yeah, I saw that he turned out in the attic... Sadly anti-climactic. And yeah, you probably are right, Don. I mean, realistically speaking, what kid hides in a cardboard box in the attic for 2+ hours after getting chewed out a bit from his pop? Wow... Well, now I feel like an idiot. No wait, I already am an idiot...

The boy's name was Falcon. That automatically redeems this 'mishap'.

From this article:

Later in the day, during an appearance on CNN, a comment by Falcon appeared to suggest his disappearance may have been planned in advance.

During a live interview, Falcon said he had heard his family calling his name.

"You did?" the boy's mother, Mayumi Heene, said.

"Why didn't you come out?" Richard Heene said.

Falcon answered, "You had said that we did this for a show."

One of the videos also shows the dad launching the balloon with clearly no concern that anyone was in it.

The kid threw up on the Today Show this morning. Poor thing. He's totally being used by his idiot of a dad.

He got sick twice, actually. And incidentally, it came over him whenever he/his dad was asked about his comment about "doing this for a show"...
Yahoo News wrote:During an ABC interview on Friday Falcon was asked why he said he was hiding "for a show," at which point he said: "Mom, I feel like I'm going to vomit." He then left the room with his mother and could be heard gagging.

During a live interview on NBC's "Today" that aired simultaneously, Falcon threw up into a container when his father was answering the same question.

Last I heard the dad is getting fined $14k for the "rescue" costs incurred.

Dad's a tool. I like his behavior in the episode of wife swap. Again, total tool.

The cable news networks got played by this guy pure and simple. I happen to come across one of the interviews he did, and quite frankly, he looked like he was stoned out of his mind.

To paraphrase Bill Maher- This media twilek wanted to prove this was not a publicity stunt by going on The Today Show, Good Morning America, and Larry King. :|
