What to wear to Green Day Concert

My wife and I are taking our 13 year old son and his girlfriend to go see Green Day. My problem is I don't know what to wear. I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb but I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard to fit in. I also don't want to embarrass myself or my son. Any suggestions?

13 year old with a girlfriend? I think a little young but to each his own. If it's Green Day a big marijuana leaf is always appropriate but may not be the best choice. I would say that you can't go wrong with a t-shirt and jeans. If you have an old concert t-shirt all the better. Let these kids know where the musical roots are. Maybe the party Pistols, Souxie and the Banshees, or the like. I'm in a similar dilemma taking my son to a Blink 182 concert.

Get a Misfits T-shirt and jeans. wear some old Vans too. If you have the Misfits shirt on the teenie poppers will think your more hardcaore than they (since Green Day is more of a pop/punk band) are so the shouldn't toilet paper your seat when you go to get a beer. If there's a pit- use your elbows when necessary. Stage dive once and yell out your kid's name and do the devil horns with your hands. That should make sure there's no "funny business" going on between the youngins.

Uh. Bypass any chains or metal, since there's a good chance it won't actually make it IN the concert. I lost my spiked collar that way many moons ago.

Jeans and a comfortable t-shirt are good. Whatever suits you. People will wear whatever they want, so no worries.

Thanks for the responses, both serious and humorous. I'll probably go with the jeans and t-shirt and leave the skinny jeans to my son (he's into those and I try not to be the dad who gives him a hard time about them).

I usually have the shirt of the band I'm going to see on, because I like to buy shirts at concerts beforehand, so I can avoid the lines. It's easier to just put it on and wear it for the duration.

Anyway, I always go for the solid colored t-shirt and jeans or shorts. Not like this kind though:
