Challenge #10: FBTB History

It's like the old BCS, except the 2.0 makes it fancy. Wondering why you can't post here? Check out the rules and expectations, and it all should be made clear...

Challenge #10: FBTB History

Postby onions » Fri May 15, 2009 2:18 pm

This is a 2-part question. You must answer both parts of the question correctly in order to win.

1) My first photo assignment for FBTB was at LEGOLand, CA for what event?

2) The two grand prize winners from the event each got a special prize of their choosing; what were those prizes?

You have 48 hours to complete this challenge. Challenge ends on Sunday May 17 at 2pm. Good luck.

The event was the Star Wars Weekend 2007

The winners (a jango fett in the U-13 and what looks to be a shadow trooper in the general) chose a bunch of Lego nicely bundled together with red ribbon

Going through you flickr is a pain Ace,

Just cos I'm not sure, Star Wars Weekend '07, and the grand prizes look to be both of the SWL games, 4 sets, some magnets, some keychains, a hat and a poster.

I'm seriously stumped.

I even looked up the event with google, and confirmed that it was called "LEGOLand's Star Wars Weekend," and that the winners were a kid in a Jango Fett costume and a guy as a Shadow Trooper.

Ok, my answer:

1) LEGOLand's Star Wars Weekend

2) Prize: LEGO Star Wars II for XBOX, a UCS Y-Wing, Jabba's Sail Barge, and three other sets, I think.

There's my answer, and if it's not right, I'm completely stumped

incorrect.

i'm glad i finally have a question that isn't answered in the first 2 minutes of being posted.

if you have an answer that isn't repeated above, post it anyway. i may not be able to monitor this thread but i'll hop in to declare a winner should someone answer correctly. don't be deterred by others' answers before yours if I haven't posted a winner or declared the answers incorrect.

The event was: the LEGO Galactic Challenge Finals, September 22, 2000

The prize(s) were: a beautiful Darth Maul bust and a free family trip to the LEGO Headquarters in Denmark, where they will take part in behind-the-scenes product development of new LEGO Star Wars sets. They will also receive a life-sized LEGO Star Wars model (of their choice) signed by George Lucas himself!

The event was "May the Fourth Be With You" - 10th Anniversary Celebration.

The prizes were one Chrome Gold C-3PO and one Chrome Darth Vader.

I've been searching Flickr and the old forums for too long...

The event was the LEGO Galactic Challenge Finals at LEGOLAND California, on September 22, 2000. The winners, David Michon and Peter Nagy, both won a Darth Maul bust and a free family trip to the LEGO Headquarters in Denmark, where they were to take part in behind-the-scenes product development of new LEGO Star Wars sets. The additional special prize of their choosing was a life-sized LEGO Star Wars model (that they could select) signed by George Lucas.

I have to try so here's my guess:

I have no clue what so ever.

It was the Legoland event in 2000 I think the galactic building campaign.

The winners recieved a darth maul bust and a life sized statue made of lego with george lucas's autograph.

I hope nobody submitted this already.

I'm sure it was before 2007 and was after 2000 but I can't find anything before 2007. My guess would have been the Master Builder competition...
