LEGO Store Openings

Postby Staff » Mon Jun 08, 2009 10:58 am

For those of living in the U.S.A., you may or may not have seen the complete list of LEGO brand retail stores. I present to you, the complete list of stores that have will be open by the end of the year:

  • Stonebriar Centre, Frisco, TX

  • Crabtree Valley Mall, Raleigh, NC

  • Westfield Annapolis, Annapolis, MD

  • Kenwood Towne Center, Cincinnati, OH

  • NorthPark Center, Dallas, TX

  • Penn Square Mall, Oklahoma City, OK

  • Easton Town Center, Columbus, OH

  • Orland Square, Orland Park, IL

  • Ala Moana Center, Honolulu, HI

  • Concord Mills, Charlotte, NC

  • Arundel Mills, Baltimore, MD

  • Riverchase Galleria, Birmingham, AL

  • Westfield Garden State Plaza, Paramus, NJ

  • MyZeil, Frankfurt, Germany

Some of these may have already happened, such as the Frisco, TX and Annapolis, MD locations. Cincinnati, OH will have their grand opening on June 19th through the 21st. Dallas, TX will have theirs on July 17th through the 19th. I really wish they would open another store in the Los Angeles County area; cause we need something more west of Glendale and Aneheim. I'm just saying, an hour and a half drive to one of those stores isn't quite "in the neighborhood". Anyways, I'm glad to see more retail outlets opening in other states. And like all other store openings, they celebrate with a community activity of building an 8-foot tall R2-D2 model. All participants will receive a special R2-D2 printed Duplo brick, as well as a postcard, while supplies last. Each store will also have giveaways and an exclusive limited edition LEGO set. Dial your browser to http://stores.lego.com/en-US/default.aspx for up-to-date information on store openings and other events.

It's nice there will be two in Ohio considering my aunt lives in Cincy, and I frequent Columbus every once in a while as well.

lego seriously needs to start opening store in canada...canadians always seem to get ripped-off here, I seriously hate being charged online shipping when I can just walk into a lego store and and buy a USC Melenium Falcon and not charge for the extra dollars.

FYI, the Frankfurt Store is open since today, but the official opening with Master Builder R2 event etc will be between 30.July to 1.August.

I have no idea why they open earlier than the official opening.

Update with a photo:

Dogs are not allowed inside. They called today's opening "soft opening", and joked they need some training before the official opening.

I hope this thread is ok for this?

The Frankfurt Store had its Grand Opening this weekend.
Today I was volunteering with the Masterbuild Event which was a big R2D2.
It was fun and very busy. I had the table with the white parts and the kids and her parents built a lot of the big blocks which then were used for building the R2.
The 5 hours were over very fast, but then I really needed something to drink :-)
