Challenge #11: Haiku

Postby onions » Sat May 16, 2009 12:03 pm

For this challenge you are tasked to writing a Star Wars-themed haiku poem. What's a haiku? Be funny, be dramatic, be whatever you wish when you write your poems. You may enter up to three haikus in a single post, one post per person. Haiku must follow the 5-7-5 syllabic format. Remember, editing your post for any reason will disqualify you from the rest of the competition, so please be sure of what you are submitting. You have 4 days to complete this challenge. This challenge will end on May 20, 2009 at 12pm. Good luck!

Solo chases troops.
Down Death Star's long corridors.
Screaming all the way.

Impossible odds.
Asteroids are in the way.
Shut up 3PO.

Power Converters!
Stop your whining you farm boy.
Clean up those droids now.

Since I can't write haiku, I found some good ones... :D I reordered haiku list to make more sense however. :D
I hope those are of correct format, I have no way to know. :P

Impossible odds.
Asteroids are in the way.
Shut up 3PO!

Huge man in black cape.
Lightsaber of blood red hue.
Beware of Vader!

You killed my father.
No, Obi-Wan told you wrong.
I am your father.

Citiation: ... 3666/p1/?7
Where, where, where is correct way out?

original ... who knows ... here's some I came up with :)

Are symbiotic life forms
They power The Force

What a piece of Junk!
The Millenium Falcon
Can hide in the trash

Stormtroopers beware
When entering Control Rooms
You might hit your head

Here is my ode to the Empire Strikes Back, in Haiku

Chewbacca howls some
the Millenium Falcon
is broken again

yoda speaks backwards
r2d2 floats in air
luke does not believe

Lando's deal gets worse
Fett puts Han in Carbonite
golden droid got broke
There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those who can understand binary, and those that can't.
"None of you understand. I'm not locked up in here with you, you are locked up in here with me!" - Rorshach, Watchmen.

Star Wars meets LEGO
and millions of wallets
cried out in anger

For shame, Darth Vader
falling in that lava pit there
powerful my sarlacc

Six films later and
thirty years or more and
so much lost lifetime

The Phantom Menace
Anticipated by all
Jar Jar creates hate

Attack of the Clones
Unessential love story
Stop whining, Ani!

Revenge of the Sith
Last chance for George to redeem
Falls flat on his face

Chewbacca growls lots.
Does Han ever understand?
Leia sure does not!

When the sarlacc eats,
Does it ever have to burp?
I hope not, that’s gross!

Order sixty-six,
Clones killed most of the Jedi,
Did they ever cry?

Luke losses a hand
Han is stuck in carbonite
What else could go wrong

Sixteen years waiting
That we will never get back
Just to see Jar-Jar

Jewish-nosed Watto
With his fast-talking and greed
Ah, stereotypes
They're all wasted!

You can use the Force
Or battle with lightsabers
But blast the stormies!

The mighty Empire
Fighting the meek rebellion
Wonder who will win?

A correlation:
The fuzzier you are, the
Deadlier you are.
I am the brain, that which keeps you sane
I think your thoughts, I feel your pain
I am able to control both body and soul
I am never asleep, and I make you whole.

I already won.
Why did I write this haiku?
I guess I'm just bored.

My Haiku tribute to Tatooine:

Cute little womp rats
Luke has much to answer for
Shooting you for fun

Over Sarlacc Pit
Bounty hunter meets his match
Blind man with a stick

Salacious Crumb
Hypnotized by Leia’s leg
Fanboys share your lust

Duel of the Fates
Lightsabers clash in battle
One will not survive

X-Wing in the trench
Pilot flies towards exhaust port
Must stay on target!

A-Wing gets hit hard
Careens towards Executor
Both executed

The greatest story
A galaxy far away
A long time ago

At first a new hope
The Empire then struck back
The Jedi returned

Most memorable
Irresponsible father
Who breathed in a jar
Brick me!

I love haiku.

#1: Noah Webster & George Lucas

"A long time ago
in a galaxy far, far
away": see "Star Wars"

#2: Crawl IV

Civil war, first win
Stolen secret Death Star plans
Agents chase Leia

#3: Father and Son VI

Anakin the boy
Became Darth Vader. Luke knows
There is good in him.

Here are my Haikus:

Jabba is lazy.
He sits upon his dais.
Go walk more often!

Jar Jar really stinks.
He messed up Phantom Menace.
We all hate Jar Jar!

Sarllac is mighty.
Ate Bounty Hunter Boba.
Dengar saved Boba!

Hope you enjoyed 'em ;)
