Here's my entry:
Core Galaxy Systems' Oi-zuki Class Starfighter.
Pilot in cockpit:
'R' you sitting comfortably?
Then I'll begin:
In response to the rising threat of rival starship manufacturer' Kuat Drive Yards, Core Galaxy Systems developed the oi-zuki class starfighter 9n an attempt tomarket an affordable craft that could pack a punch. The Oi-zuki starfighter retains the familiar aesthetics of its bigger sister ships such as the Dynamic-class freighter, which was a hugely popular model in the times of the Old Republic. However Kuat Drive Yards were quick to retaliate and put their own version on the market, with newer technologies and even more compact design and it's sales eclipsed that of the oi-zuki. It quickly fell into obscurity, but is still cherished by some collectors to this day.
This particular example is owned by notorious mercenary Hando Tanstarii, who affectionately cristened it the 'Rusty Rancor', inspired by the trademark R-shaped design.
Urgh, backstories are hard, letter 'R's are hard...
