Good point, ted. I wonder if they will make the brackets look different this year since everyone has tall pics. And Beef, you can make all the changes you want before the entry deadline (and i would edit the original as opposed to a new post)

I'd guess they'd stick with square...
... a possible quick fix for folks could be adding a plain border (matching the background) on both sides of their portrait picture to make the image square (rather than retaking the shot).... or "resize the canvas" to do it, depending on the editor.

you should edit your original post. we dont' collect entries until after the deadline. if we see your name twice we'll more than likely disqualify you. make things easy for us please.

ted @ndes: thank you for pointing that out for everyone who missed it. Having the images pre-formated as squares helps me make the bracket graphic. Any photos that are not square will be cropped at my discretion. I'll do my best to make everyone look good but I reserve the right to crop heads out of spite.

I have a question unrelated to the contest, what is the "rank" thing that few of us have on our profiles? ted @ndes has "alpha male", which is a lot better than "david". how do we get these and where do they come from? (don't get me wrong, I like my david ranking it just seems so random)

Please don't crop off my mech's head! I removed the picture of my mech and then re-uploaded to try to add black margins around it, but I couldn't (at least I didn't know how to...).
If you need me to, I can re-take the photo in landscape...
