well done JD4M, no dishonour to lose to your entry, it was really cool. I think the P38 would lose to the soul snatcher in a dog fight as well, the soul snatcher looks pretty manoeuvrable and well armed. But if you needed to transport some stolen bantha across the galaxy the P38 would come out on top....

BTW: not sure anyone noticed, but the Li T'ning P38 is based on the P-38 Lightning WWII fighter. As Mr Lucas said the Star Wars spaceship battles were inspired by classic WWII and WWI films, I think it keeps the Star Wars spirit. Oh and also Yamam Oto is a reference to the great Japanese general Yamamoto, shot down by a P-38, piloted by Rex T Barber (sounds like a third string character in Red Wing squadron).
