Here's my entry (my first entry into a building contest here at fbtb) the "H-Wing".

The H-Wing is designed for speed, so it is armed only with lasers, not missiles. This is the prototype, hence the black and blue color scheme. The rebels did have time to slap a rebellion emblem on the storage locker in the back before taking off with it.

Introducing the Empire's Zion Fighter - (Z-Wing)
Since the Empire was scrambling for resources to build the first DeathStar, they developed a fighter that would disable Rebel ships, fleets and bases, instead of destroying them. Then they could salvage the parts and materials, to speed up production and give engineers a unique chance to study Rebel technology. This fighter was made to follow behind the Tie Fighter and Tie Intercepter attack lines. Usually deployed in teams of 4 ships, they were made to target command ships and carriers. Using its dual Ion Cannon, it could disable enemy ships for a short period of time or completely de-stablize the whole power flow, if hit by multiple blasts.

Z-wing production began to decline as bounty hunters begin stealing the ships and the technology, to better their space piracy abilities. Apparently, pirates made more money from whole ships than from holey ships. Empire production also declined as a key element to the large Ion Cannons, was only found on a frozen planet that was not fully under their control. Shipments from the icy planet halted for an unknown reason.....at least until movie #5.

[Pepper]

The Rebel E-Wing Mark 1 was developed in the early stages of the Rebellion. It was originally going to be used to protect the Y-Wing bombers when they went on bombing raids. But the large fuel tank proved a problem. The Imperial pilots could easily destroy the fighter with a single well-placed hit there, as well as anything nearby. After their first raid, in which all but two were lost, the E-Wing model was abandoned and every one in service was grounded for the rest of the war. It's weapons are two light blaster cannons and two missile tubes.

Here's my ship, the Empire's X-Fighter!

The Empire was developing a ship based on the letter 'X' after Darth Vader was jealous of how awesome the X-Wings were in the destruction of the first Death Star. This model was only in prototype mode when the second Death Star was destroyed, but showed much promise. While it carried only 1 laser cannons in the front, It was also equipped with 5 proton torpedoes (1 in the back), a small bomb bay, a giant EMP bomb, and a rear defense cannon.

My E-Wing
Built to fight back against the Empire. Uses powerful plasma lasers with a highly agile design, to take out Imperial bombers and fighers. Its 2 ultra-plasma powered lasers, are used to cut thru thick armored bombers or to take out radars and weapons on larger class ships.

T-Wing

An early Incom starfighter, primarily designed as a test of the practicality of equipping single-man ships with hyperdrive capabilities. Having demonstrated that the smaller hyperdrive motivators and faster-than-light engines were viable, the T-Wing was quickly surpassed in firepower and manoeuvrability by craft like the X-Wing.

Introducing... THE Y-FIGHTER
The design was inspired by an I-Fighter crashing and splitting its rear end. Its sleek build not only looks good, but provides the most power with the smallest frame. Its blasters are the most accurate this side of the planet Yeltha.
Thanks to Solo and FBTB for hosting this contest, it was a lot of fun!

This is the CEC Universal Weapons Platform, aslo referred to as the "U" Wing. Based on a scaled down version of the drive systems from the ubiquitous YT series. It's forward pods provide ample room for weapon systems. Shown is the variant that is armed with a torpedo launcher & a high volume projectile weapon. Like all CEC products the starfigher has headlights because, "Hey! You might need them!" It is a sturdy ship because of it's simplicity. But pilots complain that it has a tendency to drift slowly to the left.
