MM2014SWR Sweet Sixteen: rolli vs madLEGOman

Postby Solo » Fri Aug 01, 2014 12:02 am

Round 2 (Sweet Sixteen): Speeders
Speederbikes, landspeeders, and airspeeders are all fair game. This is a simpler challenge than the opening round, but the build window is shorter. You'll only have seven days to submit your model (8/1-8/7), followed by two days of voting (8/8-8/9). The winning builder from each bracket advances to the next round.

The deadline for this round is 11:59PM PST on Thursday August 7th.

This thread is for the builders listed above. Post your submission photos in here when you're ready, and the poll will be added once the deadline passes.

Good luck and thanks again for participating!

Presenting the Royal XJ-6 Steamspeeder!

Image

For the second round I wanted to try something different: Ditching the crude metal and gnarled wood look you usually see while moving to something classy and stylish. The finished speeder reminds me of the looks of sportscars from the 1940s such as the Bugatti Type 57.

Check out the alternate angle.

Goes perfectly with Legopard’s Victorian Bountyhunter for some serious swooshing and chasing! ;)

Best of luck to all the other contestants! May the steam be with you!

sorry don, the procrastinating couldn't be helped this time around....
built the crew and started the speeder just after the round started
drove my wife's family all over the bay area for 3 days
finished the latter half of the speeder yesterday
shot it this morning
photoshopped the pics this evening after getting home from work at 9:30
and here we are.
