MM2014SWR Sweet Sixteen: ted @ndes vs Mr.Brickman

Postby Solo » Fri Aug 01, 2014 12:02 am

Round 2 (Sweet Sixteen): Speeders
Speederbikes, landspeeders, and airspeeders are all fair game. This is a simpler challenge than the opening round, but the build window is shorter. You'll only have seven days to submit your model (8/1-8/7), followed by two days of voting (8/8-8/9). The winning builder from each bracket advances to the next round.

The deadline for this round is 11:59PM PST on Thursday August 7th.

This thread is for the builders listed above. Post your submission photos in here when you're ready, and the poll will be added once the deadline passes.

Good luck and thanks again for participating!

... well, I guess I'll go first. Introducing the The "Ninjedi Steamspeeder" (based on the Praxis Mk. I turbo speeder, from "Clone Wars" TV series).

That looks suspiciously Trek based but everything checks out.

Yeah, I thought so too when I was researching speeders to build. As an "old-school" Star Wars fan, I'd rather believe that anything outside of Episodes IV-V-VI never happened (Jar-jar-who?)... but since it did, "all's fair".

I've always loved snowspeeders so here's my take on a steam version. As a Rebel aircraft, I tried to give it a bit more of a cobbled together look than the Imperial vehicles would have by keeping a lot of the pipes and such exposed.

Congrats, Mr. Brickman. I thought this could end up a close one... (... teach me to try to steampunk some obscure, Trekkie looking "Clone Wars" speeder). Good luck in the next round.
