2013 MOC Madness Tournament: Round Four Now In Progress

Postby Staff » Fri Dec 13, 2013 10:58 pm

Bracket 4Round three polls wrapped up tonight, so eight more contestants can let out a sigh of relief as the rest advance to round four. Below you can view each of the winning ships and if you stop by the contest forum you'll find the four new submission threads. The next deadline is five days away again, 8PM PST Wednesday December 18th. The pressure is on and the clock it ticking. Good luck!

I'm a little surprised. I figured some of these folks, at least, would have already designed and built ships up through the finals, just in case. :D

MOC Madness Round 4 Deadline Less Than A Day Away

Postby Staff » Tue Dec 17, 2013 11:07 pm

If you're one of the eight talented builders who's made it this far, you have just under twenty two hours remaining to construct and submit your latest alphabet fighter. Tomorrow night at 8PM PST is the cut off so get those ships finished ASAP. Polls will be up shortly after, stay tuned for the next update with links to voting threads.

Dont know if this is the right place to post - but I have a suggestion for this year's MOC contest. I love the bracket and its layout with the individual Pilot's pics. Would love to see something similar, but with a picture of each ship that was built to show off the awesome building skills of all of the contestants. I think it would help to see what everyone did to make this such a great contest this year.

Yes I plan to do something like that at the end of the contest.

One more idea: any chance we could add one, final prize for the best ship of the entire contest? Would be interesting to see what round the ultimate build was in. Maybe a few of us could donate to a fourth prize?

But there are too many to choose from! - it's been hard enough voting each week! :D

Even if there is no prize involved, it would be cool to know which is the grand favorite.

Or how about the best of each letter (no prizes-just bragging rights).

Say the voting went the same as in the mini-camper contest, where you could pick several and whichever got the highest overall votes won? I don't think that would make it too difficult to vote, although I do like the idea of voting by letter-groups, too.

The whole point of this contest was in the bracket, where it's a bunch of small matchups, and it's something we've done before. Much like the March Madness tournament it's based on, it's meant to level the field a bit between great builders and average builders (like me!) and make it about a couple of things. One vote, ten votes, there would still be a tough choice to be made.
If the above post didn't offend you, you're probably reading it wrong.
