MOC Madness 2013 Round 2: Zoid vs Azed

Postby Solo » Wed Nov 27, 2013 2:00 am

This is now the polling thread for the ships shown above. This poll will be open for exactly 48 hours so get those votes in quick! You can still view the entries below. Contestants: this is a friendly reminder that no changes are allowed after the deadline, so your posts will be locked and if any of the photos in them change you will be disqualified.

This is the submission thread for the pilots listed above. Your letter this round is N.

The deadline for this round is 8pm Pacific time next Sunday, December 1st.

Post your starfighter photos below. Include up to three photos and label them as follows: one you'd like to use as the polling image, one demonstrating the letter, and one showing your pilot in the cockpit. Standard photography restrictions apply.

The n-wing.

So small as to be invisible to scanners, the nano-wing was an extra-light starfighter designed by Nazgul Industries for missions of interception and stealth. Only nine were built.

Azed's verdict: GRRAWORARRK! Nice, nippy. RRROAAK!

I can see a lower case "n" in this one though I would have made the column of the n as a tube launcher for rockets. Would make it look more functional.

Ace and I are in agreement here, this does not sufficiently represent the letter as required in the rules. The good news is you have time to make adjustments since we pushed this deadline back a few days. If left as is it will not qualify.

Not an 'N', an 'n'.

I'll see what I can do about taking it to the nth.

The ZorN is Zoid's Interceptor - designed for short range combat. It is highly maneuverable with light armaments and weapons, it's high speed and agility is it's greatest weapon.

Si-Mocs: You need to replace that first pic with one not featuring any overlaid graphics.

An inside look at Si-Moc's building process...

Si: "Oh boy! Just finished my Z-fighter! Man, this is an awesome build, I'm sure it'll really throw the-"

*checks website again*

"Wait I have to build an N? What? Dammit, now I have to scrap the whole thing and start again from...wait a minute..."

These are both really nice builds, and I like the colors on Si-Mocs Z (I mean N), but is it just me or is that cockpit open to space? It doesn't look like it closes to me.

That's a good point. I hadn't noticed it before but it really doesn't work. Some gaps are forgivable but that seems pretty substantial. You need to do a better job of closing it off, or at least try to give it the appearance of a closed cockpit.

i like it better this way, Simon, more streamlined, that little peak on the letter Z picture (=-P) was a little annoying to me... good luck both of you
