This Saturday will mark three weeks left before the deadline and I plan to show off the existing entrees in the reminder post. A lot of people like to wait until the last minute to submit their models. With the level of quality of the mechs that got in early I'm not worried about the numbers yet.

I swear, buried in the "head" of this robot body is MODOK. You can see the whites of his eye through the clear windscreen. Check out the video for further proof.

The repulsor canons on the MECHBOT are powered by gamma radiation emissions - that's why they're greenish, and not blue. (And yes, I don't have a lot of trans-blue round 1x1 bricks.)

you can use ANY joint you want, as long as it's LEGO.

I'm finding that making a mech that has moving joints and yet is still sturdy enough to stand on its own without extra support is challenging. It stands right now, and looks good (IMHO), but after adding weapons, who knows?

Funnily enough, that's exactly the problem I had at the weekend when I started connecting all of the invidual components of my mech together. The lower torso and legs were fine until I added the upper torso, arms, head and most significantly, the weapons - then the ankles literally disintegrated.

After a redesign of the ankles to remove the hinge point, I've been able to get my mech to stand up, but it requires careful positioning ... I think I've definitely found the limit to those rotation joints.

Hopefully going to get photos taken and online next weekend.

So, Zombie Mecha Spider Man has bit the dust.... sorta.... Sooooooo many villains being posted that I feel I must take it upon myself to tip the scales back towards the forces of good.... Just finished the Spider Man and Punisher Mechs... just a few more to finish then... oh the rules say just one entry Sparesoul, I know I know... they will all join like voltron and form mecha Stan Lee... pics very soon!

Victor's N.O.R.A.

Neurologically Operated Refrigerated Automaton, or N.O.R.A. was meant to be Victor's solution to both preserving his beloved wife, and allowing her to continue to function in the world while he could focus on finding her a cure. Only the years as a human snow cone and constant battles Batman have not been kind to Nora. While technically still alive, her body and mind have suffered extensive tissue damage, and she can no longer control N.O.R.A. Instead Victor has taken over the controls. Now outfitted with a mammoth freeze cannon, hurling pissed off polar bears, and a doomsday failsafe that will trigger a cataclysmic nuclear winter, N.O.R.A. Will become the vehicle of Victor's ultimate revenge against Batman and a world whose heart has grown cold.

Just finished the Spider Man and Punisher Mechs...

Not to burst any bubbles, but the rules do say:

Build Rules:
• Pick one hero or one villain only, and build them a fitting robot to fight with.

Obviously a staff member will have to verify this, but I wouldn't put too much more work into it yet

Pretty sure Stan Lee isn't a superhero anyways... Concerning the other two mentioned: as long as you only plan to enter one you should be fine, but if it's deliberately designed as a part of a bigger mech I'll disqualifying it for trying to circumvent the one pilot rule.
