I saw something similar, briefly. Must have been over the weekend or maybe on Monday. The next time I logged on everything was normal again.

For me it was only the bottom section below the topics/posts which had lost its light grey background. The one containing "WHO IS ONLINE" or the red "NEW_TOPIC" or "POST_REPLY" buttons. The black starry background made it difficult to read, but not impossible. The actual posts were all fine, so I wasn't bothered. I might have reported it if it had stayed like that, but it didn't.

Browser: Firefox 3.0.14 (WinXP), set to delete cookies on exit.

Um, you don't need a camera to take screenshots. Just press the "print screen" button on the keyboard and paste it into an image program, there's not much more to it than that.

This has been resolved btw. The Brain is no longer having this issue.

Yup, also figured out that there was indeed a key on my keyboard for "print screen." I just had never bothered to look in that area. :)
