Theme Chooser

Postby Staff » Thu Oct 15, 2009 11:18 pm

Those of you who may fondly remember our April Fool's prank in which we changed the theme of the site to be a Power Miners fansite may appreciate this. Over to the right => you may notice a small announcement telling you what theme you're using. By clicking on the switch button, you'll be able to select a theme for the site. I need another day and possibly the weekend to bring this functionality to the forums but it will be integrated. We have plans on adding more themes to the line up so check back often.

And for those who remember our April Fool's joke with bitterness and anger: you probably won't care, but hopefully we'll be able to deliver a theme you'll like.

One caveat: you need to have a javascript enabled for this to work. Some adblock software may prevent this from working.

What do you think? Love it or hate it, let me know.

PM is back! Awesome. :D

*edit*

Only thing I doesn't like is confirm dialog. I know I changed settings, so just change theme.
I can always change it back. :)

Very cool. Can't wait to see the other choices. Obvious suggestions: sith, republic, empire, rebels, droids, episodes, ships, classic scenes, oh you get the picture... Just don't lose the FBTB branding.

I'm so happy. It's like spring all over again, now I've chosen PM. Summer's still to come!!

In a massive case of sucking up.... how about a Walter theme??

Ultrasweet. One of the things I look forward to most is the various backronyms possible with FBTB. :D

Anyone else not able to read quotes when viewing in the Power Miners theme?

This is just a test. Is this even readable to you, or am I the only one?

Quotes do indeed seem to be messed up on the power miners theme. You have to highlight them, in order to read them. Other than that, I haven't found anything wrong with the power miner theme. Looking forward to more theme options down the road. Great work Ace.

Well, when still on the SW theme, the "background" gray behind the forums and pages have disappeared, and instead just has the starry background covering where the gray should go. This has also affected the buttons, making the red buttons themselves transparent (showing only the starry background) and the red words over it. Buttons still clickable, so nothing is actually affected. Visually it's messed up though.

Sorry if the description is strange, I don't really have a better way of describing it.

can you tell me what browser and what version of said browser you are running? screen shots would help as well.

Can't give you any screenshots, I don't have any camera (sorry--crazy, I know), but I'm using Firefox v 3.5.3 (I believe is the version). Nothing has ever been a problem like this in the past, so I feel like it must have to do with something that was tweaked when the choose-your-theme idea was put into place...which is a great idea, btw! :D

You don't need a camera to take pictures of your computer screen. Just use the Print Screen (PrtScn) button on your keyboard.

I couldn't log in while using Opera the other day. I could via other browsers, just not Opera. I chalked up to a caching issue as it was only temporary.

@The Brain: I have version 3.5.3 on both mac and pc and i am unable to replicate the issue. if anything you should see the same behavior when using the power miners theme. are you seeing that behavoir as well?

is anyone else seeing what he is describing?

@Draykov: the opera issues have been resolved. i'm running the latest opera.
