[Podracer] Darth Vader's Podracer Advanced

Postby Bored Robot » Thu Apr 02, 2009 12:06 am

There are some really groovy podracer designs in here.

Here's my entry for the contest. This is my first MOC so I still have a lot to learn about "design", but I think I communicated my idea okay. It's supposed to look like a Tie Fighter from the front. XD

The idea behind this pod is that Darth Vader still has an itch to go podracing so whenever Palpatine is busy somewhere he takes his Podracer Advanced to the nearest event. He based the design of the pod on his personal fighter, the Tie Advanced x1. It's powered by mini ion engines and revamped solar arrays that channel full power to the engines as temperatures rise to critical levels.

I have to work on my photography skills, please don't be too harsh. :x

Nice! I assume he always wins, of course. ;) The cockpit is my favorite part- very neat.
True happiness: looking inside the box to see a perfectly flat instruction manual.

Thanks. I think he's fast but there's a lot of competition from across the galaxy these days!

Kriff! Practically all the podracers I've looked at are superb, and this is no exception. The only thing is that I won't be able to vote for 'em all!
For some reason, I always have a bad feeling about things.

It's Lego, not "legos"!

Nietzsche was obviously an alien.

Thanks for the compliments. If I had it do over, I'd probably make the engines larger. "Bigger is better" rights?

A lot of you all have been at this much longer than me so I'm open to any suggestions for next time.
