B.I. Joe (Ferret, Fang, Armadillo)

Brick Improved Joe... well more accurately, Cobra... I've been watching the old GI Joe cartoons on some dish station at night and was inspired to try my hand at MOCing something other than structures. Here's what I've come up with so far:

Cobra's Primary Fighter, the Rattler:

And Cobra's Primary Heavy Armor Tank, the Hiss:

And the whole slithery gallery:

They are cute. But since they are not to scale to the mini figs (imo) I don't find them very exciting.

I have 3 vintage h.i.s.s. tanks and just yesterday I was thinking of building one. I don't think I currently have the required tank track to make it happen though :/

I cry your pardon, but It depends on how you consider scale. The minifigures can all ride in them. But you are correct that the vehicles are a bit smaller (or perhaps the figures are a bit larger) than they were depicted in the comics/tv show. But that's part of the fun of Lego. Its impossible to be truly realistic in scale (look at the Death Star and Jabba's Palace playsets). I went for a more Lego minifigure scale, I thought it was more whimsical.

In any event, here are some more vehicles.

The Skystriker with Ace:

And the Trouble-Bubble with Destro:

I think they are great and something that's been on my 'to-do' list for a long time.

As for not being in 'scale', there is definitely 'selective compression' going on which I think is not only fine, but preferable when dealing with the proportions of a mini-figure.

Lastly, what happened to poor Destro. That trouble bubble needs some scrubing bubbles!

Having established air superiority, the Joes bring out the artillery, with the armored HAVOC:

Including the support hover-craft:

Sorry I didn't mean any disrespect. The rattler was one of my favorites and I have fond memories of it. The idea of it replicated on a larger scale really got me thinking.

You should do a Warthog and a skyhawk, I loved those guys too :D

No disrespect taken. There's actually a larger rattler MOC out there that I kind of used as a guide for mine. http://bohoki.deviantart.com/art/lego-cobra-rattler-3-66519915

The Joe and Cobra forces are evenly matched until Heavy Metal takes the field in the MBT (Manned Battle Tank), code-named Mauler:

GI Joe has Cobra outmanned and outgunned, as Covergirl arrives in the Wolverine missle-tank:

With Cobra on the run, Flint leads GI Joe in the offensive, with (what I consider one of the goofiest vehicles) the Armadillo:

But, at the last second, Storm Shadow arrives in the fully armed negator gyro-copter, codenamed Fang:

Coordinating in the counter-attack comes a Televiper on a Ferret ATV:

No one else has said it, so I feel obligated. Yo Joe!!!! Sorry - had to be done.

Great job on the figs. My favorite as a kid was Flint and you really did him justice.
