[Star Wars] (WIP)Diorama : Geonosis Battle

Postby Bossk » Thu Feb 19, 2009 6:20 am

Work In progress of my diorama of Geonosis Battle . (2008-2009)
WIP 1 :

I've make a diorama of the battle of Geonosis . For my Christmas 2008, I bought 164 Tan plates : Image

and Brown, DarkOrange, Orange, Tan parts on bricklink.

I've make some Walker's(AT-TE or other walkers) "footprint" or "track marks" for have a detailled diorama .
I needed an AT-TE fot this diorama. So I put my own UCS AT-TE on the diorama . I wanted to buy two hailfire droid 4481 for this , but I think I can make my own .
Ok, I know the AT-TE and the Hailfire aren't at minifig scale . At first, I wanted to make a diorama with my own AT-TE, with UCS creations, but I can't make bigger figs. So I've put some minifigs in the battle .

Pictures now :

You can see a clone who is stuck in a quicksand. Quicksand on Geonosis ? I don't know...that just for "the detailled diorama", for the fun :D .

I need to buy many clone battle pack, and droid battle pack

You don't see droid on the diorama . I need to buy many, many, many droid battle pack . Need money..

WIP 2 :

New :

I've removed Walkers' footprint/track marks, because I want to make a Hailfire droid, crashed by an AT-TE .
Well, I don't speak English very well, so I will show you :

Image
1: Here will be the Hailfire crashed by AT-TE's guns .
2: Here are hailfire's "footprint"(they not really have foot...so...I think you understand  ..)
3: Here, you can see an oasis, and clones who are swimming in . I will show you more pics of this :) .
4:Here will stand another Hailfire .
5: Here will be some droid, spider droid, battle droid, droideka,...
I don't want to buy 4481 hailfire droid. Because it's a Technic set, and for the crash, I need hailfire's "whels" demountables .
So I will make my own hailfire droid, with parts from Bricklink .

Now about the oasis :
I wanted more originality in my diorama, so I wondered : " What can I see in a desert :S ?"
Now, you know the answer .

There is water, palm tree, and of course...clones who are in holidays... >8(

Wow, that's big. Great work so far, the pool scene is so daft it's funny. However, are you able co cover up all the holes in the basketball floor pieces? The landscaping that doesn't use those bit is great too, and I'm liking the AT-TE.

Pretty nice, I love it. Just keep on building, you're great.

I don't know why I dropped back here again lately. LEGO can no longer hold my interest, and I'm almost certainly gone forever. Bye to all who remember me.

The basketball floor pieces could also be the footprints, just not as accurate nor as detailed, but still looks completely fine from a distance. I wonder if you're thinking about making that Genonosis arena where Obi-wan, Anakin, and Padme are executed. I would imagine that to be huge considering the size of your MOCs. But anyways, keep up the good work, but tons of clone battle packs, and do what you do best.

Oh yeah, just a side note. How much did it cost for the pieces for both the AT-TE and the Geonosis scene? :D

Great Scott! This MOC is looking fantastic. I can't wait until you add more droids and have yourself a full-scale battle going on. All you need after that is some fire, smoke, and many red snake pieces and red bushes for all of your bloody and organy needs to really drive the huge battle message home. Maybe that's just my inner boy speaking, but anywho, it is all your decision.
They're all wasted!

No, I'm not able to cover all the holes :| . But the holes under the AT-TE are a bit "hidden" by him .

-Yes but I think the new AT-TE from Clone Wars, will be better for these footprints . But for mine, it's a bit too small, no?

-For make this arena, I need a lot of Tan Bricks, and plates... But I'm still a teenager who lives with his parents and who has not yet the age to work :x . So I don't have a "big lot of money" . And you know, Tan color is not the cheapest :'( .
But I imagine the arena too :'-( . Maybe a day, when I will have a good job, I would like to make this arena... ;) but need Tan

-? :S

-Yap, I will buy some battle pack ;-) .

-Like I've say in my first post, I want to make a crashed Hailfire droid . So I will add fire and smoke around the hailfire ;) .

-

You all know, that the AT-TE is too big,
I've make a battle droid ; it need just a Tan Image and a Tan Image on his head , and other Tan parts on his legs .

Did you think, this battle droid is better for my diorama ? But, how can I make the trooper ? and the "pool scene"/oasis , how did I can make trooper in ?

And look : http://www.weplug.com/images_1/00c760beb19dedd31896cac2c504a3c220090123162521.jpg
The droid is too big now :( .

Yeah, the footprints (from the basketball pieces) for your MOC AT-TE are too small. But then again, your AT-TE wasn't made minifig scale. I wouldn't be surprised if you made a modified and more accurate version of Lego's AT-TE set to match in with the diorama.

Oh and by the way, the arena is not just tan. The rock formations around the sand are sand-red/red/brown. You could probably use a combination of all 3 and put tons of droids and jedi on them. XD

Being a teenager, you're pretty luck to be able to buy all this off Bricklink. I'm a teen too, but unfortunately my parents don't care for Legos so they won't support me...or else I would have built a UCS Invisible Hand with an interior that can accomodate minifigs.

That diorama is awesome, I definitely don't mind the use of the UCS AT-TE with the minifigs. The scale difference makes it look more intimidating to the Separatists.

Perhaps the basketball pieces could be craters on the desolate Geonosian landsape? :S

Thanks you Viceroy about the AT-TE :D . Like you, the scale difference isn't a problem for me . About the craters, I think this is not a bad idea :) .

I hate to keep bugging you about the image guidelines, but we want to discourage posting so many images like this... you could have just linked to the plate pic and only gone with the numbered one and a few overview shots. I'll let you decide which ones to change this time instead of doing it myself though, OK?
