Full-size (mostly) Lego R2-D2

Postby kresty » Sat May 03, 2014 8:35 am

I meant to post this last week when I first saw it on our forums, but you know, life and what not. Forum member kresty posted his creation and is even running a blog to show off his exploits at a Emerald City Comic Con and a Star Wars day event. Sure, the build isn't all LEGO... Lego can be used for all sorts of things, but it's structural ability kind of falls apart when you have to build something to move around (and not weigh like eleven kajillion pounds). Oh, that and you'd need a few million power function motors to move it around like this.

Still, it's a fantastic little build. Hit up his post on the forum and share your comments!

Thanks. I also just posted some photos on his Star Wars Day outing on his blog. http://L3-G0.blogspot.com

Feel free to share or tweet or link if you know other people that might like to see his pix or videos.

May the 4th be with you (a little late)

Where does R2 even keep a wallet? With the flamethrower?

I think he has an infinite number of gadgets, just ask the R2D2 Builders Club folks that keep trying to figure out where to put them :)

I'd put it on the opposite side though, no need to burn up your cash in the event of an accident.

PS: Check out his blog too for more photos and stories, http://L3-G0.blogspot.com - In fact, share it, despite the cool stuff, nobody seems to visit the blog :(

Well, hopefully the front-page with a link can help with that :)

There is!

Shockingly, more people interact with us there than on the forums...

Re: Anyone know Darth Lily?

BTW, this girl was really cute and I'd like to share with her/her parents, she really liked L3-G0. They said we could post the photos/video, but I don't know how to share with them. Her Darth Vader mask scared Artoo, so she had to hug and comfort him.

This is an extreme longshot, but maybe if people knew her &/or retweeted they'd be able to find it?
