Jerac's Imperial Star Destroyer Chimaera

LEGO Star Destroyer - photo edit by Migalart

For those that think the official LEGO Star Destroyer sets have still been too small, Jerac has you covered with his newly completed Chimaera. At two meters long and weighing in around fifty kilos, it is a massive beasty and worthy of that menacing feeling evoked by the opening scene in A New Hope. As smooth as it looks in the shot above, I think a closer look is important to see the level of detail, including the fully finished undercarriage. All this is achieved with no internal metal support structure and it's worth mentioning that he feels it is in a, "barely finished state".

is it just me or does the bridge section look smallish relative to the rest of the ship? or is it supposed to be that way?

An estimated 40,000 pieces and a cost of over $5,000! That's just amazing.

Wow! You could actually use that as a studio filming model and no one would ever know it was Lego. Amazing.

Ohh...Emm...Gee.

Most of the studio models have pencilled panel lines. When you see a panel line on this model...it's a real panel, I mean, a real separate piece! This puts the mental in monumental - my mind is buh-lown.

It looks that way to me too, looking at some images for reference it looks like the main thing is that the "neck" needs to be taller. It doesn't matter though, this thing is amazing.
