[USA] Fred Meyer Buy 2, Get 1 Free LEGO This Week + 10% Off

Starting today at Fred Meyer, all LEGO (excluding LEGO Friends and LEGO games) are buy two, get one free. As indicated by the picture above, LEGO Minifigures Series 6 is showing up at the Northwestern chain, making this an excellent time to pick them up. Other new sets are starting to trickle in as well, but don’t expect any of the new Star Wars sets. This deal stacks with the weekly “10% Off Home” coupon making the deal even better. The sale ends Saturday, January 21st.

[USA] Target Clearance Contines with 8087 Tie Defender

Tie Defender

Think post-Christmas clearance deals are done? Wrong! Even if your local Target has the same old stock sitting for 30% off, all hope is not lost. Forum member nyjpapi has discovered 8087 Tie Defender is now on clearance at Target.com for $24.97 (30% off).

But that’s not all! Use the coupon code TGTHTT5Z to get an additional 10% off. Red card members will get an additional 5% off on top of that, along with free shipping. Fingers crossed that it will hit deeper clearance, but for now that’s not a bad deal.

Amazon.com: Pre-order the New 2012 Star Wars Sets

Amazon.com has the latest wave of LEGO Star Wars sets up for pre-order and they have a ship date of January 29 23, beating LEGO Shop@Home’s estimate by a week. Free shipping on orders over $25 and no tax in many areas makes this a better deal than ordering directly through LEGO, that is if you don’t mind forgoing the exclusive poster celebrating these new sets (shout out to grogall at Eurobricks for the high-res poster images). All the sets are available with the exception of the two retailer exclusive sets, 9494 Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor and 9495 Gold Leader’s Y-Wing Starfighter.

First Look At LEGO Super Heroes Batman Polybags

3016030161

After forum member Diaaabo posted pictures of two more Star Wars Polybags, I popped over to check out the new sets Ace posted were available for pre-order and to download some instructions on the S@H site and discovered these two new polys. I have no information on how easy these will be to get or when they will be available, but I have a suspicion that the Batmobile set will be similar to the Hogwart’s Express mini. Could be easier/cheaper to get, but we’ll just have to wait and see at this point. I can’t wait either way and since I have the instructions already, I plan on building a couple of these tomorrow to compliment my son’s new Cars sets. That design is really great!

Battle Of Hoth Begins In February

3866 Battle Of Hoth

The word on the web is the second licensed (and first in the lucrative Star Wars line) LEGO board game 3866 Battle Of Hoth is set to hit the shelves in February. As a board game lover, I’ve really enjoyed LEGO’s contributions so far and can’t wait to get this one. I was fortunate to receive the entire Heroica 2011 line for the holidays and have already cracked open a couple and played them several time with my young son and I just know he’ll go nuts for Battle Of Hoth, but he’s crazy if he thinks he’ll get to be Boba Fett. This game would be worth buying for the microfigs alone IMO and I must say LEGO’s choices for licensed board games gets better all the time…

LEGO Star Wars January 2012 Now Up for Preorder, Free Poster

Happy New Year, folks!

LEGO Shop@Home put up the January 2012 assortment of LEGO Star Wars for preorder. Delivery is to be expected on or around January 30. It should be noted that 9494 Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor and 9495 Gold Leader’s Y-Wing Starfighter are marked as “Hard to Find” meaning they are retailer exclusives. No word yet as to which retailer they will be exclusive to yet. All preorders will come with an exclusive LEGO Star Wars poster. No minimum order indicated and no image of what the poster looks like but if I had to guess, it’s going to be a poster showcasing all the LEGO Star Wars minifigs for 2012.

Is it sad that I’m no longer fazed by the high prices and low piece counts? Such as the TIE Fighter set, priced at $54.99 but has less pieces than Gold Leader’s Y-wing? Eh.

Sneak Peek At 2012 Star Wars Polybags

30056 Star Destroyer30058 STAP

Huw and Kram over on Brickset have managed to scope a couple of images for 2012 Star Wars polybags that will eventually end up in UK newspaper giveaways and/or Target impulse bins. Nothing new or exciting to be sure, I personally see no interesting or rare parts and the models themselves have been done nearly to death. Mini lovers (like me) will probably want them anyway and the rest will cross their fingers and hope for some ridiculous Target clearance, so good luck either way!

[USA] Post-Christmas Clearance at Walmart and Target

WalmartTarget

Dissatisfied with the Shop@Home clearances today, I ventured out to nearby Walmarts and Targets. Though unmarked, many sets were discounted by 50% at Walmart. Some Star Wars sets were included, along with most of the 2011 Ninjago, Kingdoms, Cars 2, Atlantis, Pharaoh’s Quest, and leftover Toy Story sets. Your mileage will vary from store to store, but be on the lookout for great deals like the Star Wars Advent Calendar or 8097 Slave 1 for half price.

I also hit Target, but found their 30% clearance less than stellar by comparison. However, be sure to keep an eye out as remaining inventory gets deeper discounts. Some Target locations could be up to 75% by the end of the week. 2012 stock is coming shortly, so they need to make room.

Be sure to check the forums to see what people are finding. Definitely worth a venture to the toy aisle this week. Just try not to hog the price scanners too much.

LEGO Shop@Home End of Year Clearance Sale

FREE LEGO Ninjago Booster Pack with any LEGO Shop Purchase of $75 or more. Valid 12.26.11 - 1.31.12

It’s the 26th on the east coast, so it’s safe to post this now.

Numeric values shown are dollar discounts off MSRP. I can’t stress that enough.

LEGO Shop@Home sent over a list of all the items that are discounted for their end of year clearance. Numeric values shown are dollar discounts off MSRP. I can’t stress that enough. The list makes no distinction of what was available or unavailable before the sale started so you may see some items that have been long gone appear below. Prices are good online and in-store so you may get luckier at your local LEGO Brand Retail store. For your convenience, I’ve organized the list according to theme and tried linking directly to the product.

I apologize in advance if the sale prices aren’t as exciting as you were hoping. I didn’t make the sale; I just report on them.

6860 The Batcave Finally Arrives

The last of the DC Universe Super Heroes debut sets (that we know about anyway) finally arrives at LEGO Shop@Home: 6860 The Batcave. Priced at $69.99, you get Bruce Wayne, Batman, Robin, an excellent Bane, and Poison Ivy. If you order now, you won’t be able to get it by Christmas, but if you’re brave enough to actually go to a mall, a LEGO Brand Retail store may have one. I would call before heading out of course.

Thanks to Guest in the chat room for the heads up.
