Registration opens today for the 5th FBTB Parts Draft. There will be 9 spots available to draft 9598 Pizza Planet Truck Rescue, one of which could be yours by following the instructions in this forum topic.
The next FBTB Parts Draft will take place on Saturday February 18th at 11 am PST.
We’ll be drafting 10 copies of Toy Story set 9598 Pizza Planet Truck Rescue for $18.50 a pop, more than 50% off MSRP! (shipping charges will be calculated later for each participant.) Our very own Don Solo reviewed it on the site here a year ago, and had high praises for it.
You can see the inventory for this set on Bricklink.
The draft will follow the same rules as the last couple drafts, since we seem to have finally streamlined the process enough.
Draft registration will commence on Monday February 6th at 12 pm PST, which you can do in in this dedicated forum topic by simply posting “PIZZA!” Feel free to post any and all questions or comments in the thread; however, anyone posting “PIZZA!” before the clock hits noon on February 6th will be banned from participating. I will then confirm your registration via private message and give you PayPal payment instructions, and our draft order will be decided by the order of payment received from participants.

I don’t know what I find more adorable, andybear@hk‘s build or that fact that there is a giant tree somewhere completely covered in LGM’s.
There’s a new Toy Story short written and directed by Angus “CubeDude” MacLane called Small Fry. It’s set to debut in front of The Muppets hitting theaters on November 23rd.
Says Angus:
“It’s like the Prince and the Pauper tale for toys,” says writer/director Angus MacLane. “Except one of them happens to be 3 inches tall.”
You can read a write up at USA Today for more information.
Thanks to Anonymous Tipster for the heads up.
As I write this there is only 1 hour 20 minutes left to take advantage of this offer, but maybe someone can take advantage.
Toys’R'Us is having a special 8 hour BOGO sale on select LEGO sets. LEGO Toy Story 7599 Garbage Truck Getaway is a TRU exclusive and is priced at $42.98 and is eligible for the BOGO. The best deal, however, is my personal favorite set from the Atlantis theme, 8075 Neptune Carrier, is priced at $44.98, already discounted down from MSRP of $59.99. Buying two copies of that will set you back $67.47. Tax and shipping applies if applicable, but you’ll get free shipping once your cart total reaches $75 or more. Sale ends 7pm EST.
Thanks to kojitator for the heads up.
No I haven’t developed a stutter, It’s the best way I could think to describe Nathan Proudlove’s latest build. A custom stickered remote controlled RC made in the same scale as the licensed toy. All that’s missing is a video of it tearing down the street with a LEGO Woody & Buzz hanging on for dear life!
Toy Story meets current events: in a nod to the continuing Occupy protests now going global, Matt “Pepa Quin” DeLanoy shares the unfolding drama in Andy’s Room as the Toy Story gang rises up against the 1%.

I think Buzz’s sign is my favorite. What’s yours?

In addition, they’ve added a bunch of stuff to the Sales & Deals section, but don’t get too excited. Most of it is hovering around 10-30%, and the items that have been in there for a while are still about the same price. Notable exceptions are the Toy Story and Female Minifigure magnet sets for $3.48 each. I am pretty sure are from the last wave of magnets before they started getting glued. About $1 a figure is nothing to sneeze at.

And finally, spend $35 US/ £25 UK or more and get a free Alien Conquest Jetpack polybag.
