Toys ‘R’ Us Discounts LEGO Batman 2 + Free Shipping

Toys ‘R’ Us is currently offering the upcoming LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes at a surprisingly decent discount of 25% off. On top of that, they’re offering free shipping on pre-orders. There’s no telling how long this will last and there’s no bonus minifigure or downloadable characters, but if you prefer to save money, this deal might be the better choice (it’s tough, I know). Oh, and PC users, you’ll have to look elsewhere for a deal. Toys ‘R’ Us doesn’t list that version. Then again, neither does Gamestop. The game is available on Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, Wii, DS, 3DS, and releases June 19th.

Free LEGO DC Super Heroes Movie Maker App Now Available

Got an iPhone? Ever wish you could produce stop-motion videos with it? Well Warner Brothers Consumer Products/DC Entertainment has you covered with their new LEGO® DC Super Heroes Movie Maker app, available for free in the App Store. The above video is a preview of what can be possible but methinks the production value of it involved more than just an iPhone and the app. There is a tutorial video after the jump.

Batboat Polybag Available @ TRU

30160

Actually, I guess it’s a jetski. Which is silly, but it’s out there in the world as spotted on the TRU website and probably making its way into the wild as we speak. Keep your eyes peeled because this is sure to be the least expensive way to get a Batman figure or two and other than the classic blue and grey comics version, this Keaton-esque costume is probably the best suited for LEGO. Now, let’s see that awesome Batmobile poly hit the shelves!

EB Games Offers LEGO Batman 2 ‘Exclusive 5 Villains Character Pack’

EB Games Offers LEGO Batman 2 'Exclusive 5 Villains Character Pack'

The Australian EB Games site is blazing the trail again being the first to offer another bonus with the pre-order of LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. In addition to the sweet power armour Lex Luthor figure you can also get a ’5 Villain Pack’ that includes Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd, Black Adam, Black Manta and the fan favourite Bizzaro. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, this offer only applies to PS3 and Xbox users which is disappointing for the rest of us who may never get to play as some of these iconic villains. I have little doubt this will pop up for the the rest of us soon so keep your eyes out if you haven’t pre-order this already.

Marvel Sets Now Available at LEGOShop

With too much anticipation the new LEGO Marvel sets are now available at shop.lego.com. Not all of the sets are available as of this post, most notably the Spider-man set and action figures (we’ll update as they become available). But, I ask, who is going to rush over to LEGO Shop and order these right now? No one. You’d be a madman (or madwoman) if you did. Not when you can wait 5 weeks and get a free Hulk minifigure. You have patience, right? It’s not difficult when you know that patience will pay off, especially in the form of a tiny Hulk with purple pants.

Of course, for those lacking in willpower, want to get their hands on the new sets sooner rather than later, and want to pay shipping, click the links below.

Enter The Green Goblin

Xenomurphy keeps up with the swing of things in his latest super hero themed MOC as it appears that Sandman and the Lizard were just a warm up for the main event, Spider-man vs. Green Goblin. This scene is filled with some incredible details like the working fire escape, graffiti and that fantastic explosion. I encourage you to take a closer look on either Flickr or MOC pages and learn more about this latest creation in a series of amazing builds. I had to include the picture below, because I love seeing Spidey read his own comic book.

I heard about this earlier today and thankfully Brick Fanatics put up a picture to confirm the good news. LEGO Shop@Home will offer a FREE Chrome TC-14 minifigure on May 4-5th with a $75 LEGO Star Wars purchase!

If that wasn’t cool enough, the standard sized Hulk figure many have wanted will be available May 16-31st with any $50 purchase. May is shaping up to be a very expensive (but awesome) month!

LEGO Marvel Pre-order @ Target.com

6868 Complete

Target.com is the latest to offer the LEGO Marvel sets for pre-order and this apears to be further confirmation of the April 8th release date. I’d love to know the logic in waiting to release these sets ON EASTER instead of taking advantage of the holiday to boost sales. It seems the brick bunny will be bring these sets to only a small percentage of quick/lucky folks and the rest of us will simply have to wait. ONE. MORE. WEEK.

Thanks again to hassmyster for his vigilance/obsession.

Official LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes Cover Art Revealed

Official Cover Art

The artwork for the LEGO Batman 2 game has been finalized and I was a bit surprised because I actually prefered the team-up style picture of Superman and Batman they’ve been using as a place holder. At this point I’m guessing that Lex Luthor’s inclusion on the cover and exclusive fig mean that he will be the overall ‘big bad’ in this game, but it wouldn’t be the first time he used his considerable wealth and intellect to band all of Gotham’s villains together to rid the world of capes.

You can still get the powersuit Lex fig with the pre-order links in the forum, but get in to get it quick when the game comes out as they have a habit of coming up short on the bonuses.
