Review: 9480 Finn McMissile

9480 Finn McMissile

I have a confession. I have yet to be compelled to watch Cars 2. You might ask yourself, “Why then, did you, Mr. Reviewer, buy a Cars 2 LEGO set?” I chose this set because of its tangential relationship so another series of films I have seen many, many times. James Bond. Yes, I bought 9480 Finn McMissile on the sole fact the character was based on the Aston Martin DB5. And LEGO’s effort kind of resembles it. (more…)

2012 Star Wars & Cars LEGO Ads Online Now

With all the leaks and images floating around right now It seems fitting that LEGO would join the party on the official front and you can check out ads for the some of the 2012 offerings on YouTube. The first video features the new X-wing and TIE Fighter designs and lets you get a good look at the play features of the iconic starfighter’s latest re-release. This one is more of a tease since the street date for the Star Wars sets is still a bit off, but if the next video whets your appetite then those Cars sets are already available on LEGO S@H.
Thanks to THX 1138 for the heads up!

Review: 8639 Big Bentley Bust Out

8639 Big Bentley Bust Out 1

I keep trying to write short reviews for Cars, but I end up being a windbag so I can complain as much as possible. I will TRY to keep this one short but mostly because I told myself that I wouldn’t review the DC Super Heroes sets until I finished the Cars stuff. May contain spoilers.

Review: 8679 Tokyo International Circuit

8679 Tokyo International Circuit 2

And here we go with another LEGO Cars review where you’re probably expecting me to go off angrily at some miniscule aspect of the set and pile on more complaints. I can promise you that there’s less anger, but still a high level of disappointment.

8424 Mater’s Spy Zone 1

There isn’t much to say about this set, good or bad. It’s just sort of blah.

“Size Matters Not.”

Size matters not...

Just keep telling yourself that Yoda.

SPARKART! has found a creepy/hilarious use for the printed Cars faces and refers to this unholy mash-up a “Cars Tuned” creation. Nice.

For the record I don’t care what Johnson thought, puns are not the lowest form of humour. Prop comedy is.
