Review: 8639 Big Bentley Bust Out

8639 Big Bentley Bust Out 1

I keep trying to write short reviews for Cars, but I end up being a windbag so I can complain as much as possible. I will TRY to keep this one short but mostly because I told myself that I wouldn’t review the DC Super Heroes sets until I finished the Cars stuff. May contain spoilers.

Review: 8679 Tokyo International Circuit

8679 Tokyo International Circuit 2

And here we go with another LEGO Cars review where you’re probably expecting me to go off angrily at some miniscule aspect of the set and pile on more complaints. I can promise you that there’s less anger, but still a high level of disappointment.

Review: 8424 Mater’s Spy Zone

8424 Mater’s Spy Zone 1

There isn’t much to say about this set, good or bad. It’s just sort of blah.

“Size Matters Not.”

Size matters not...

Just keep telling yourself that Yoda.

SPARKART! has found a creepy/hilarious use for the printed Cars faces and refers to this unholy mash-up a “Cars Tuned” creation. Nice.

For the record I don’t care what Johnson thought, puns are not the lowest form of humour. Prop comedy is.

Toys’R'Us BOGO 50% off on LEGO Star Wars, Harry Potter, Cars

ToysRUs.com is having a BOGO sale on all LEGO Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Cars sets that are in stock. Buyer beware: a lot of the sets have a slight markup over MSRP so your actual savings may be less than anticipated. Still, if you combine it with the $25 off purchases of $150 or more by using your MasterCard at checkout, you might be able to get some pretty nice savings. You’ll also get free shipping once your order reaches $49 or more. Deal is good online and as far as I can tell, is only good for Saturday November 26th. It is unknown at this time if the deal is also good in store. Not into Star Wars or Harry Potter or Cars LEGO sets? Fear not, for they will have a BOGO 50% off sale starting Sunday November 27 through December 3rd on all themes EXCEPT Star Wars, Ninjago, and video games.

“Star Cars” Lightning McFalcon, or Millennium McQueen, or. . . something. . .

Check out this intriguing mash-up by Raphael Heusser that combines two of our favorite vehicles: Star Wars’ Millennium Falcon and Lightning McQueen of Cars. I suppose the most fitting tagline here would be, “To infinity, and beyond!”

[CAN] TRU’s Moonlight Madness Sale & More LEGO Deals

Starting tonight November 18th at 7pm local time, Canadian Toys R Us stores are offering the World Racers set 8899 Gator Swamp for $27.47, that’s 50% off! Wait, was World Racers even a theme? That doesn’t sound right to me. They’re also offering 25% off of all Atlantis & Kingdoms and select Cars sets. There’s 20% off most Harry Potter and All Spongebob Squarepants & Creator sets. You’re better off checking out the brick and mortar for the best selection on these and a couple other deals.

Seriously though, was World Racers a real thing?

Review: 8487 Flo’s V8 Cafe

8487 Flo's V8 Cafe

This set is probably the closest we’ll get to some sets based off the first movie. Luckily, locations in Radiator Springs haven’t changed much if at all between the two movies, and Flo’s V8 Cafe is no exception. I wish the same could be said between the movie setting and the set.
