Wheels of Justice Contest Reminder

Announcing The Wheels of Justice Contest

I realize we JUST launched this contest a few days ago, so it might seem a bit premature for a contest reminder post, but I have good reason. Forum member volumex kindly pointed out to me that the deadline to enter the monthly contest on LEGOSuperHeroes.com is the 15th of every month. So to be eligible for December’s contest, which happens to be the last month they’ll be holding a contest, you must submit your entries to their site by the 15th of November. Our contest deadline isn’t changing: you have until the 30th of this month to enter in either the Batmobile and/or the GreenLanternmobile category.

Good luck to all.

Announcing The Wheels of Justice Contest!

Announcing The Wheels of Justice Contest

While we are still enjoying the afterglow of our MOC Madness Tournament and amidst the voting phases, we have one more contest to run before we call it a year. This one is sponsored by The LEGO Group and it’s to promote the LEGO Super Heroes line. The prizes up for grabs are one LEGO Batman promotional figure and one LEGO Green Lantern promotional figure, both from San Diego Comic Con. Your task to build an original Batmobile and/or an original GreenLanternmobile. Sound easy? Check out the contest thread for the complete rules. The deadline is November 30th 2011. Good luck!

MOC Madness 2011 Tournament Underway: Group Pool Play

FBTB MOC Madness 2011 Building Tournament Board

The above graphic represents our tournament board. We’ll up updating the graphic and uploading it into the site’s flickr stream after every round. With the submission window now closed, the FBTB MOC Madness 2011 Tournament sees a grand total of 92 entries. It was kind of exciting watching the last couple of entries pouring in the past two days. We’ve now entered the group pool play round of the tournament. All the bounty hunters have been randomly split into 4 pools of 23 and are waiting for your votes. The top 8 from each pool will advance to the Round of 32. Voting starts today and ends on November 8. Check out the regional pools:

Good luck to all!

One Day Left to Enter the MOC Madness 2011 Building Tournament!

Image

Today is the final day to submit your entry for our MOC Madness 2011 Tournament. You have until midnight tonight (Pacific timezone)  – that’s 24 hours from the time this post appeared – to post your bounty hunter and ship. After the deadline passes you will not be able to enter, nor will you be able to update your entry or correct any issues. If you’re waiting until the last minute to post please make sure you’ve followed all the rules, and have your three photos ready: one of just your bounty hunter, one to display you ship, and another to demonstrate the prisoner compartment. Also, if this is your first time posting to the forum, try not to panic when you don’t see your entry right after you post it. A staff member simply needs to approve the post but it will be entered into the system as soon as you click submit so the timestamp will remain accurate.

I’m looking forward to the last minute entries and I should be online tomorrow night if you have any final questions.

2011 Podracer Challenge Trophy Part 1

McPod™

A little while ago, we hosted probably our most ambitious and whackiest contests ever, the 2011 Podracer Challenge. The contest had two winners: the fan favorite determined by popular vote and the race winner or what I like to call last man standing. Before he became a staff writer, Tommy “roguefx” Williamson took top honors as the fan favorite with his McPod racer above. One of the prizes in the prize package was a mini model of the winning podracer as a trophy. Well, Ryan was finally able to put this together in time for Brickcon to personally hand deliver it to Tommy:

McTrophy 03

Pretty nice, huh? We may deliver prizes late, but we deliver them. We are still working on Fatyankee’s trophy and will feature it here soon.

Contest Reminder: Two Weeks To Go!

After midnight tonight you will have less than two weeks remaining to finish building and submit your bounty hunter + ship for our  MOC Madness 2011 Tournament. The entries have been pouring in and I suspect some real heavy hitters are waiting until the final stretch to reveal their models.

To repeat my note from the halfway point post: the cutoff time for submissions is midnight on the 31st (Pacific time) but please do not wait until the last minute to enter! Especially if this is your first time entering a contest and posting on the forum. If there is a problem with your entry or the post itself you will have no time to fix it and you could miss out on the contest as a result. No one wants that to happen, so if you need any help at all feel free to ask in the forum thread or contact me via the private message feature.

Contest Reminder: Halfway There!

It’s now October which means we’re past the half way point in the building phase of our MOC Madness 2011 Tournament. We already have some very cool entries and I know loads more are in the works thanks to the two month window. Remember that the cutoff time for submissions is midnight on the 31st (Pacific time) but please do not wait until the last minute to enter!

If this is your first time hearing about the contest, worry not, you still have four weeks to build and submit your bounty hunter + ship to compete in the tournament, so get to work and good luck everyone!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, get your bricks ready because it’s time for for the second annual FBTB MOC Madness Building Tournament! Last year we kicked off a big contest with a simple task and it was such a success that we’ve decided to revive it this year with a few minor changes. The challenge remains the same: Build a new original bounty hunter and a ship for them to pilot. But this time we’re opening up the restrictions a bit, and we have some great prizes lined up so check out the forum post for the full details!  (more…)
