2013 MOC Madness Tournament: Final Round Begins

Final Final FourWe’re down to our last set of challenges in this year’s MOC Madness Tournament: the “Winners” and “Losers” brackets! Don’t let the name fool you though, there are no losers among these four builders. The last polls closed Friday night and the results are shown below, with one of the polls decided by a single vote. Talk about a close call. I’ve been in contact with the builders and have decided to extend this final deadline to next Saturday night, 8PM PST on January 4th, to ensure everyone has a fair shot at building and posting their final ships. Postponing deadlines is not something we do a lot around here, I honestly can’t remember a contest before this where we have, but the timing for such a gauntlet was pretty bad so the exception was in order.

2013 MOC Madness Tournament Penultimate Polls Posted

Final Four

The final four got their latest entries in with a day to spare (which is my excuse for not having a reminder post last night, I almost posted it before checking the threads and finding them ready to roll) but sticking to the schedule the polls were held until the deadline – which just passed a few minutes ago. Forum members have 48 hours to cast their votes again. This round will determine the final match-ups for the next round, which will then determine who gets the prizes and glory. Be sure to sign in and check out the builds before voting in the threads below.

The next deadline is Wednesday December 25th at 87PM PST and with none of the advancing builders showing much concern for the Christmas day deadline we’re proceeding on schedule. MOC Madness Round Three Build Phase Ends Tomorrow Night

mm2013af
Just under twenty two hours remain in the sweet sixteen round of the tournament, and so far only six ships have surfaced. Seems like tomorrow is going to be a busy day polishing off those builds and getting them submitted. Friendly reminder that the deadline remains at 8PM PST Wednesday December 11th. The good news is with fewer contestants remaining  the polls won’t take so much time to set up, so, stay tuned for tomorrow night as the rest of the builders report in.

2013 MOC Madness Tournament: Round Three Now In Progress

Bracket 3Round two ended last night with the close of the polls, and all of the victorious ships are available to browse below. Some really tough competition and it’s only going to get harder as we progress. We’re back to the five day build and two day voting cycle, putting the deadline for builders in round three at 8PM PST on Wednesday December 11th. All of the submission threads are ready and waiting in out contest forum. We’re down to a quarter of the starting lineup, so with only sixteen competitors left I hope the odds are against any more no-shows from here on out. Good luck everyone and keep up the great work!
