less than five days away – that’s December 1st, Sunday night at 8PM PST again update: deadline extended to Wednesday night, 12/4 at 8PM PST. The results from round one polls can be seen in the bracket above and a full gallery of the winning ships can be seen after the jump.
Archive for November, 2013
In approximately three hours the first round of polls will close and the winners will be revealed. If you have an active forum account don’t forget to log in and check out the competitors, your last minute vote might very well change someones fate. To make things easier for you there’s a full list of poll threads here. The good thing about charting out all the rounds before hand is the winners won’t have to wait for an announcement to start building their next ship. As soon as the poll results are public you’ll know who you’re up against. I’ll have the new threads up tonight, and a revised bracket ready to post in the morning with a gallery of all the winning starfighters. Good luck everyone!
Target is offering a modest 15% discount on 21103 The DeLorean Time Machine bringing the price down to $29.99. Use coupon code “TGCDNTUZ” to apply an additional $5 discount, bringing the price to $24.99. REDCard members will save an additional 5%, bringing the price down even further to $23.74 before any taxes. REDCard members will also get free standard shipping; otherwise, shipping starts at a little under $6.
They are also discounting 9516 Jabba’s Palace by applying a temporary price cut. The sale price is $78.29 ($74.27 if you’re using a REDCard), a 35% drop from $119.99 MSRP. This item ships for free since it reaches the $50 minimum required for free shipping to kick in.
These are probably one of the most significant discounts we’ve seen on this pair of sets since their debut back in August. Right now, Amazon is applying a 29% discount on both 75020 Jabba’s Sail Barge and 75021 Republic Gunship bringing their prices down to $84.99, down from $119.99 MSRP. Amazon usually applies a discount to match another online retailer but checking the usual suspects yields no competitive match. This one seems to be all Amazon.
Also, if you’ve missed this the first couple of times we mentioned it, 75019 AT-TE seems to be on perma-discount at $60.99, a 32% discount off of $89.99 MSRP, thanks to Target selling it at that price.
If you’re still into Ninjago or know someone that still is, you should know that Amazon is selling 70725 Nindroid Mech right now with immediate shipping. Price is $88.88 a 1% discount off of $89.99. I know what you’re saying, “big whoop on the discount” but that’s not the point. The point being, you can buy this 2014 set right now and go swoosh the MechDragon up and down your street and be the envy of all the other kids who will look down through their tears from their bedroom windows in jealousy wondering what magical powers you possess to be able to get a toy from the future.
Or something like that.
Amazon continues to swing its discount hammer, this time striking some Lone Ranger sets and setting them to better than 30% discount.
- 79111 Constitution Train Chase is now $66.99, a 33% drop from $99.99 MSRP. If you didn’t score this set from the gold box deal a few days ago, this is just a good of a price.
- 79110 Silver Mine Shootout is now $47.99, a 31% drop from $69.99 MSRP.
- And finally, 79109 Colby City Showdown is $30.99, a 38% drop from $49.99 MSRP!
This weeks episode of MAOS has the team investigating a woman who may be a telekinetic, or haunted. Either way I’d bet she’d be fun at a diner party and look forward to finding out tomorrow. Also, it seems we may get some of the Cavalry’s backstory. Such as, why she’s called “The Cavalry” and why you shouldn’t call her that. Everyone on this show is so mysterious. Terribly mysterious.
Except Fitz/Simmons of course. They’re just really excitable nerd puppies.
Out of the sixty four contestants who signed up all but one of them submitted their ships on time, so a great turn out for the opening round. Unfortunately two more were DQ’ed on technicalities but that’s still a very promising start. Loads of fantastic builds to sort through means some real tough choices for voters. The polls are now open to active forum members. They’re each in the same threads where the builders posted their photos, and you can sign in and see a quick list here. The poll only last 48 hours, and time is up around 9:30PM on Tuesday night.
