Yet another licensed property has called on the support of its fan base to reach the 10,000 votes needed for LEGO Cuusoo to consider production in some shape or form. I’ll admit that Mingles has done a nice job with the pictures and given a lot of thought as to how an entire theme could be produced, though a single set not unlike the one he has shown would be more likely and at least give the fans a little taste of Link. The content is no more questionable than The Lord of the Rings, so there should be no problem there. The main hurdles this project may have would be the licensing (Nintendo already has dealings with K’nex) and whether or not the fan base is there to actually make money on another hard to find set. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is still my favourite video game. Ever. So good luck Link! It’s dangerous to go alone! Take these…

A feast for your eyes! I just received these hi-res images of TC-14. I’m sold. With a more realistic looking torso, it adds a conundrum about C-3PO. Should he be re-released with the new print pattern? Or should LEGO leave him alone and finally get around to doing a chrome R2? C’mon LEGO, his nickname is even chrome dome. What does it take to get it done?
TC-14 can be yours for FREE with a LEGO Star Wars purchase of $75 or more today and tomorrow at LEGO Shop@Home and LEGO Brand Retail Stores.
At last, the sale you’ve all been waiting for is finally here.

Good afternoon, Fubby-Tubbers! I just got an email from LEGO Shop@Home regarding early adopters of 10225 R2-D2:
“Knowing that 10225 – R2-D2™ is brand new product and part of the LEGO® Star Wars™ line there was a concern that the May 1st launch date (unchangeable) could potentially leave a number of consumers purchased the set during the 3 day gap prior to the May the 4th promotion to later be disappointed they had missed the upcoming offers. In an effort to alleviate this customer dissatisfaction, LEGO Shop set up all purchases of 10225 – R2-D2™ to receive the May the 4th offers early. No other purchases will receive the offers prior to May 4th.”
So there you go. Now, please put away your angry eyes and your pitchforks and torches. Hopefully this will alleviate the confusion.
Target.com has made all of the LEGO Lord of the Rings sets available for pre-order with a release date of Friday, June 1st. As always there are some of us who cannot wait and those who can, so if you fall into the former catagory I’ve listed the links to these highly anticipated sets below. With exclusive Star Wars and Super Heroes figures popping up, you have to wonder if we’ll see any cool LOTR exclusives or polys. A Return of the King Aragorn or Saruman perhaps? Yes please!
Our good friend Rob over at Lifelites is offering some great deals and incentives for his lighting kits to celebrate the unofficial Star Wars holiday, May the 4th. Starting today through 11:59pm May 5th, 2012 CST/GMT-6, you can take 15% off your purchases using coupon code USETHEFORCE. Every order placed within the promotional period will be eligible to enter a random drawing where on lucky customer will win a free Chrome Stormtrooper magnet. And…
But wait, there’s more! We’ll also be randomly selecting five orders during the promotional period to receive a free LifeLites eLitesaber with their order. eLitesaber will be a random color chosen from red, blue, green, orange, and purple. Are you going to be one of the lucky recipients? Which color will you get!?
More details on their news page.
You have three days to make your purchase but don’t dawdle. May 6th will be here sooner than you realize.
Wheels of Justice turned out to be a really cool contest, Avengers opens nation wide tomorrow, and the new superhero sets are already hitting shelves… so the timing just feels perfect for… drumroll please… Wings of Justice!
Your task: pick a superhero and build them an aircraft to fight crime in. See below for the specifics. First place is a brand new 6869 Quinjet set, but that’s not the only prize on the line. The contest will be open from midnight of May 3rd through 11:59pm June 2nd (PST) and is open to everyone in the world.
The ever vigilant Huw over at Brickset discovered three new polybags in the LEGO instructions list and with this, Marvel has pulled ahead of DC in the poly race. The images for 30162 Quinjet, 30163 Thor and the Cosmic Cube and 30165 Hawkeye with equipment aren’t the greatest due to the fact they have to be cut and copied from the small instructions page, but I for one am thankful none the less. No word yet on the availability or exclusivity of these awesome little sets and I can’t help but notice a missing number in there, but I’m sure we’ll know soon enough. Of course it’s the two characters who already appear in multiple sets which will make them even easier to get and lower their value overall, but no complaints here! The Hawkeye print is generic enough to be reused fairly easily and Thor is just awesome. I expect to see a proper Thor Corps put together in no time.
The annual May the 4th sales extravaganza is still a few days away, but everyone’s favorite plucky astromech goes on sale today! 10225 R2-D2 is now available in the US for a hefty price tag of $179.99.
But wait there’s more! Also available for sale is Collectible Minifigures Series 7, which contains, without a doubt, THE best minifig ever made. It’s stylish, has all the qualities of making great army building fodder, and comes in an awesome color. That’s right, I’m talking about the Bunny Suit Man:
The great thing about this series is that you can order up to 32 minifigs instead of the old limit of 16, increasing your chances of getting a more complete set. They’re priced at $2.99 a pop though. If you’re patient, you may score free shipping during the May the 4th sale. Those postcards people have been getting didn’t indicate any restriction but I’d imagine you’d have to buy something Star Wars related in order to qualify.
