Review: Cars 2

Cars 2 Movie poster

Despite my apprehension at how much I would dislike this movie, I forced myself to go see it today so that I’d have a better frame of reference for the LEGO Cars sets that’s currently in my review queue. Everything I’ve seen and read about it lead me to believe that the plot would be more Mater-centric than Lightning McQueen and the prospect of sitting through more dumb jokes from Larry the Cable Guy did not appeal to me in the least.

Superheroes Community Window at Costa Mesa

LEGO Brand Retail Costa Mesa Community Window - 1

Paul Lee, LEGO Ambassador for LUGOLA and all around good guy, set the theme for the Costa Mesa LEGO Brand Retail store for the next few weeks: Superheroes of Marvel and DC Comics. The display featured some large scale figs of famous superheroes from both brands, though DC Comics had a slightly larger presence. SandLUG member Matt Armstrong (monsterbrick), Mariann Asanuma (Model Gal) along with LUGOLA members Ezra (B. Ezra), Paul Lee (polywen), and myself helped fill out the display with miniland scale superheroes, miniature models, m-wings, and other items all to promote next year’s Superheroes license.

You can get a close up of Ezra’s contributions in his photostream.

Update: 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van Pricing Error

10220_box_global_front

I got an email from Shop@Home earlier today asking to correct a mistake they had in their press release. The actual US price for 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van is $119.99, NOT $99.99 as previously reported. The pricing error is for the US price only; all other market prices are unchanged.

The Bad News: The price just went up by $20 bucks.

The Good News: It’s the same great model.

I admit, the price is a little harder to swallow but if I had to choose this or picking up the fourth Falcon, I’d easily pick the Camper Van. Besides, what else am I gonna surprise my wife with this Christmas?

Thanks to forum member Arkov for the reminder.
