San Diego Comic Con 2009 Exclusives

This year, LEGO is trying something new. In addition to the Brickmaster exclusive set (which is still a bit of a mystery), they are also offering “Collectible Display Set” which consist of three minifigs, a printed backdrop in a clear plastic display box. There are a total of 5 sets, one for each day of the show. No word on the total number of each set yet, but I’m pretty sure they’ll be limited. The funny thing is, is that there are 5 days to Comic Con including Preview Night, and there are 6 exclusives. Not sure what the deal is but once I find out more information, I’ll post it here.

The Rumors Are True: 7679 Republic Fighter Tank Available Again

These photos were taken at my local Target store. If you missed out the first time, don’t tempt fate again. This is one of the best sets to come out of the Clone Wars series.

P.S. This is the first time I’m posting from my iPhone so the results may be a little iffy.

New Survey From LEGO

LEGO is looking to once again gather feedback from the FOL communities, so they’ve got a quick questionnaire for you  to fill out. The more people to reply the better, so please take a couple minutes of your time to help out. All you have to do is answer a few simple questions. Great, huh?

Click here to take the survey!

Behind the Bricks LEGO Club Video Suprise

Toys”R”Us gives us a nice interview with one of the primary designers behind the Star Wars theme, and may have let an accidental sneak peak slip in…

interview

Aside from some hi-jinks care of the local Imperial forces, and a fascinating look at the upcoming Home One set, fans have spotted two unreleased battle packs up on the shelf behind model designer Jens Kronvold Frederiksen. Looks like we might get some smaller Hoth themed sets in the future! Of course this is unconfirmed, but it couldn’t come from a more verifiable source unless it’s actually announced. ;)

Personally, I found the 3x scale half head sculpt of Admiral Ackbar more interesting, but that’s just me. I’ve always wondered how the special minifigures were designed.

We Are Back In Business

Migrating the forums took much longer than I had anticipated. This is a process I do not wish to repeat anytime soon. Thank you everyone for your patience.

I seriously need a drink now…

Pardon Our Dust

Pardon our dust while we move to a new host. I apologize for the lack of advance notice. Partially my fault since I knew July 8 was sort of a deadline, but I was hoping for a small extension in order for a smooth transition.

They said no.

So I scrambled pretty much all morning trying to get things set up anew. Forums should be up later tonight.

In other news, congratulations to Don for being accepted as an ambassador. Condolences to Jeremy for not making the cut.

[US] Select Star Wars, Indiana Jones On Sale Amazon.com

Amazon has some pretty good prices for a few Star Wars and Indiana Jones sets.

Star Wars:

Indiana Jones:

Other:

All discounts are at least 22% off. The two Clone Wars sets seem to be perpetually on sale; they must have pallets and pallets of those sets. Not sure why, they’re both pretty nice builds. Anyways, with free shipping and no tax (to most states), these are probably the best deals you’ll find. Of note, 10186 General Grievous, 7627 Temple of the Crystal Skull, and 10181 Eiffel Tower are all sold out at LEGO S@H so this may be the last chance you have to pick up these sets on the cheap.
