This year, LEGO is trying something new. In addition to the Brickmaster exclusive set (which is still a bit of a mystery), they are also offering “Collectible Display Set” which consist of three minifigs, a printed backdrop in a clear plastic display box. There are a total of 5 sets, one for each day of the show. No word on the total number of each set yet, but I’m pretty sure they’ll be limited. The funny thing is, is that there are 5 days to Comic Con including Preview Night, and there are 6 exclusives. Not sure what the deal is but once I find out more information, I’ll post it here.

I’ll be there this year attending as a member of the press for the first time. Watch this space for pictures and my reports.
LEGO is looking to once again gather feedback from the FOL communities, so they’ve got a quick questionnaire for you to fill out. The more people to reply the better, so please take a couple minutes of your time to help out. All you have to do is answer a few simple questions. Great, huh?
Uh oh! It seems this message has been intercepted by an Imperial Star Destroyer! More details as we have them!
Toys”R”Us gives us a nice interview with one of the primary designers behind the Star Wars theme, and may have let an accidental sneak peak slip in…
Aside from some hi-jinks care of the local Imperial forces, and a fascinating look at the upcoming Home One set, fans have spotted two unreleased battle packs up on the shelf behind model designer Jens Kronvold Frederiksen. Looks like we might get some smaller Hoth themed sets in the future! Of course this is unconfirmed, but it couldn’t come from a more verifiable source unless it’s actually announced.
Personally, I found the 3x scale half head sculpt of Admiral Ackbar more interesting, but that’s just me. I’ve always wondered how the special minifigures were designed.
Migrating the forums took much longer than I had anticipated. This is a process I do not wish to repeat anytime soon. Thank you everyone for your patience.
I seriously need a drink now…
Pardon our dust while we move to a new host. I apologize for the lack of advance notice. Partially my fault since I knew July 8 was sort of a deadline, but I was hoping for a small extension in order for a smooth transition.
They said no.
So I scrambled pretty much all morning trying to get things set up anew. Forums should be up later tonight.
In other news, congratulations to Don for being accepted as an ambassador. Condolences to Jeremy for not making the cut.
Amazon has some pretty good prices for a few Star Wars and Indiana Jones sets.
- 7673 MagnaGuard Starfighter $34.19 (down from $44.99)
- 7674 V-19 Torrent $42.79 (down from $54.99)
- 10186 General Grievous $54.89 (down from $89.99)
- 7623 Temple Escape $45.59 (down from $59.99)
- 7626 Jungle Cutter $30.39 (down from $39.99)
- 7627 Temple of the Crystal Skull $60.79 (down from $79.99)
All discounts are at least 22% off. The two Clone Wars sets seem to be perpetually on sale; they must have pallets and pallets of those sets. Not sure why, they’re both pretty nice builds. Anyways, with free shipping and no tax (to most states), these are probably the best deals you’ll find. Of note, 10186 General Grievous, 7627 Temple of the Crystal Skull, and 10181 Eiffel Tower are all sold out at LEGO S@H so this may be the last chance you have to pick up these sets on the cheap.
